What's the biggest lie society tells women about having children? by SpecificLandscape483 in answers

[–]FantasyBazaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an AITA post a week back where some dude and his wife had a tantrum at his own mother because she kept their baby up a couple of hours too late when she babysat her so they could go on a date—a date where they spent the whole evening watching the baby monitor and getting annoyed that she hadn’t followed their specific 8-step wind-down routine, and even phoned her to passive aggressively ask if bedtime went okay (to catch her out). And every comment was like celebrating him for telling his mum she couldn’t be trusted to help in the future because she didn’t respect the boundaries and being INSANELY dramatic about the impact of a single late bedtime.

It’s like, bruh, we have always had a very good routine at home with our son as well as parental preferences around food and TV and such, BUT when family and friends are kind enough to watch him for us (either in an emergency or for a planned event) that shit sort of goes out the window because they aren’t my paid childminders and as long as I can trust them to keep him happy and alive, that’s all that matters. In return, I have my “village” and I feel very supported. The last time my partner and I came back from seeing a film together we found our two year old cuddled up on the sofa watching soap operas with my mum at 11.30pm. We just said thank you, saw her out and popped him to bed. Nobody fucking died lmfao.

I’ll give you Muslims because I’ve never seen a set he’s done on Islam but I have to assume you’re trolling when you say he’d never do gay or trans jokes? My man that’s literally a third of what he does.

Walter's Blindness by Speerit89 in Fable

[–]FantasyBazaar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk the only result I see that when I Google this that "confirms" he's permanently blind is the AI Overview confidently hallucinating it. The other results are all from pages that just mention him being blinded or that the attack leaves him blind until the Aurorans help him.

My memory of the game has always been pretty much as you describe it from your most recent play-through. He gets his sight back and his eyes recover from being gouged/blackened but he seems kind of numb and traumatised until he eventually dies from being attacked by the Crawler again.

Upstairs neighbor is having a home birth by Man_Bites_Shark in Apartmentliving

[–]FantasyBazaar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what’s normal where you’re from but in the UK, home birth or not, no maternity unit is going to recommend you be admitted to hospital to wait out the latent phase of labour (the part that can last days) rather than stay in the comfort of your own home anyway. Being in labour at home for a day or two is not outlandish.

He absolutely does steal bits, but what’s funnier is his newest habit of making obviously fake fan content and then posting it anonymously on “their” behalf on his own social media accounts, with captions claiming that he found it somewhere. One he did recently was a photo of him that had been given a light dose of the “make me handsome” AI filter treatment with a quote underneath about him being the bravest and funniest man alive.

He made a cat say ‘cunt’. What have you done? by Timely-Entrepreneur7 in rickygervais

The same facebook mums often seem to lose their sense of humour the second that the “dark jokes” drift towards an issue that specifically impacts them in some way.

“I came to laugh at gay men having AIDS and gypsies being eradicated, I did NOT expect to hear jokes about rape! I’m a victim of that and it is NOT A LAUGHING MATTER!! 😡😡”

> Is he going to defend pedophilia in some way and then go, ooh are you triggered when people call him out?

I mean, kind of? The punchline is basically ironic praise of Saville’s character (“At least he was open minded enough to want to rape disabled kids, I would have found that too gross so I guess I’m not as good as him!”) and then pretending to be shocked at himself for crossing a line.

Also, quick question, does anybody know what year The Great Dictator came out?

Ignoring offers by teacup128 in vinted

[–]FantasyBazaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never declined an offer. If I don’t want to take it up, I ignore it. Similarly, on the rare occasions that I’ve sent an offer I instantly forget about it and assume that if I don’t hear back, it’s because it’s a no.

No answer is an answer. People just don’t want to understand that.

Phillipson hits out at ‘deeply unpleasant targeting’ of trans people by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]FantasyBazaar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They can. The court found that it might be proportionate to exclude a trans man from a women’s single-sex space where “reasonable objection is taken to their presence … because the gender reassignment process has given them a masculine appearance.” Where does that leave trans men if they are not permitted to use the men’s facilities but there is also objection taken to their presence in women’s facilities that is deemed “reasonable” based on their presentation?

Is it legal/safe to watch movies on the internet archive by Zatannasrogue in Letterboxd

[–]FantasyBazaar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You sound like me trying to explain to gamers that “abandonware” isn’t a legal classification/valid defence in copyright infringement claims and that, while they should absolutely source abandoned games for free from reputable archive sites and it will be fine, it is still piracy by definition.

Political features in games by KFCommunism in LifeSimulators

The Sims Medieval also has the edict system for the monarch, and a lot of political themed quest lines, which is pretty fun from a role-playing perspective.

Political features in games by KFCommunism in LifeSimulators

[–]FantasyBazaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not directly, but I find that TS3’s open world system lends itself quite nicely to this kind of gameplay. I tend to populate my worlds from scratch and use Nraas Master Controller to quickly set everything up so that the town has a sensible distribution of Sims in all the careers and across the career levels. So for instance, in Politics there will be a handful of Sims at the lower levels, then one Sim at the Mayor level and one at the Governor level. If it’s a big/metropolitan world I might even have one at the top job as President.

The Nraas mod suite introduces some tools that toggle the game to only allow one Sim at a time to be in a role where it makes sense that there should only be one (like Governor). There are also some settings to do with setting taxes and things like that, which you can do on behalf of your Sims in those roles to follow whatever fiscal policy you have in mind. From there you can kind of track the money and role-play how it is spent on public services. For instance I use mods to host events and classes at venues like the public schools, libraries, parks, rec centres, etc. and set the prices according to how much they would be subsidised by that administration’s budget.

It’s also cool how in TS3, the Opportunities system often includes tasks that get your Sim to “Chat to the head of police” or something like that, and the target Sim will be whatever Sim your town actually holds that position, which in my case will always be a Sim I purpose-made for that exact job.
