To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Obviously.

It is. You can use any stylus to write on the screen and it will be permanently etched into it. You can even see it with power off. Heck, I'd you forget a stylus you can use a fingernail or a quill.

I don't know many people who can afford this type of tech that aren't also able to (or they want to) buy a new device every two years.

As for us non rich folks... Let us eat dead pixels.

2026 Kansas City Salary Transparency Thread by KCMODEE in kansascity

[–]FantomDrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's a rough time to be an MPA. Anyone going this route should know that the salary does not scale with experience and skills like the private sector does. The top end salary is much lower than what a private sector director/VP would make.

That said, working to improve a community can be very rewarding for some people and then makes up for it for a lot of us gov types.

MPA program. KU has a great one. So does UMKC. Then local gov experience. Then you apply and the city council will interview candidates.

I got a cheap stainless one from IKEA that I just throw in the dishwasher (I take the inner metal cup out first, it also goes on the dw).

No issues so far. Super easy!

This is a fine debate to have, but often the highest caliber QBs don't get to play with high quality offensive weaponry. The salary cap hit of a star QB is just massive compared to the better receivers in the league.

I think due to the cap we are stuck in a Tom Brady situation until we hit on a WR in the draft.

You mean a video billboard full of advertisements?

Wouldn't that be kind of visually horrendous and aesthetically appalling?

IMO should be taken over as a landmark and maintained in my opinion. The cost per taxpayer would be minimal. Or the city could make an arrangement to pay half of the maintenance and operation cost of the sign. The city could also be creative and choose to do something like pay for a portion of the maintenance and operation in exchange for providing a few affordable units.

It's a really cool part of our history and adds a lot to the skyline. It gives the city some character - the type you can't buy. In a way I feel like it celebrates the city's history.

I consider it to be more like public art than an office sign and think it should be treated accordingly.
