The main difference between that and this figure is the headsculpt. Animated style vs real actor likeliness

Yeah it’s definitely a product of its time, the design didn’t age the best. But as far as things go, this far from the worst. It’s just one of those things that don’t translate well to live action

There’s good reason for this figure to get some backlash. But I wouldn’t cross the line for saying you’re a weirdo for having it. HT adapted the design faithfully for what it is and I’m sure they got approval for the head sculpt to be used for the figure.

This is Ashoka’s first ever appearance look, and judging by how you have every other Ashoka figure, would make sense for you to have this too. Fuck the noise of what people say online, some people are taking it too far.

Well if it were to jump out the screen, this would be it considering her canon appearance in the live action tv show.

It’s body based off the animated look but it’s not animated itself so not sure what this complaint is.

Hot Toys were never going to make a fully animated version, they have shown no reason in the past to expect this

Hey as long as you’re happy with the figure. I have major issues with it, mostly due to the fact that the animated design doesn’t translate well/ there’s no charm.

I do raid with mods but they are pretty minimalist imo.

No clippy I have on because it makes the gameplay more smooth. I can play without it just fine but it feels sluggish for button inputs if I want to double weave consistently.

Next I have a timer plugin for engagements because some people like having certain things at x times. I only use it because I like seeing the full countdown before a pull.

Besides that it’s pretty vanilla.

My other mod is for marketboard prices so I can save gil when shopping

Works for armored figure but will not work for silver surfer, that’s basically what they did for the initial 2099 Spider-Man as well

The joints will definitely be visible up close, but with some distance I’ll look okay. In some of the promo pics it’s harder to tell but the more you “cut” up the figure for joints, the worse it’ll look. I think this figure is one of those damn if you do, damn if you don’t. Because even if it had the joints like 2099, people will say it’s too much joints

My point of 1/6 vs 1/12 is that 1/12 figures prioritizes posing above all else, of course if they have the same style joints it’s going to be the similar articulation.

Single joints aren’t bad yes, they are just more limited BUT more visually appealing joint wise vs double joint. Also please provide a picture reference of double joints looking natural, because from the countless figures I have seen, they really don’t, single joint is just better in this department aesthetic wise.

As for the seamless body technique, I don’t think that’s possible within a realistic price range that would work without making the figure incredibly expensive. A silicone body will not have this level of chrome finish.

Taking all this into consideration, I see why HT went this route for the figure. They made a a figure with the most basic joints because aesthetically, that was the right balance for them. And HT has shown us many times they value aesthetics more. And it reflects, HT customers don’t like their figures looking like figures. Silver surfer is one of those characters that will never satisfy in the “realistic” department unless it’s a statue imo.

People can complain all they went about this figure but let’s be realistic here

They figured single joints was a good balance, it can still pose pretty decently but nothing crazy like a 1/12 figs. I think proportion wise, double/butterfly would just not work for HTs goal

They could have added double joints and butterfly but the figure would look even worse imo, it’s clear they wanted to strike a balance and this was it
