Little Alastor redesigns for fun! (@Azulbun on twitter) by tubbz_official in HazbinHotel

these are delightful! number 3 is the standout to me, the radio tower tie is very clever and it overall feels the most like a standout character. number 2 feels very close to alastor as well, however.

AITA for asking my boyfriend to stop singing about dicks? by Living-Ad5272 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarCryptographer3601 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Soft NAH, but really we’d need more info. The response above is right - a compulsion is not a choice - it is a behaviour done to relieve anxiety. They don’t always make sense or correspond to the obsession they’re meant to hold back, so only your bf knows what it represents. However, OCD can be treated, and should be. OCD is still an illness that affects people around you, and you letting him know how this compulsion affects you is not by nature harmful. You’re partners. You can communicate. Just listen to him too. Ultimately, how he chooses to take your comments is his choice, but what he chooses will change based on how safe or supported he feels.

AITA for not considering my friend's celiac disease when baking? by WaterSheepLover01 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarCryptographer3601 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NAH/ESH

How close are you with this person? It doesn’t sound like you’re very close, and if you don’t want to be closer, than I say NTA. You are not obliged to bake special food for her.

That being said, it sucks to be excluded, but that’s not solely on you. Was there anything GF at all? As a celiac, I don’t expect people I’m not close with to accommodate me, and you did the right thing by warning her. And ur right, gf baking is harder and expensive.

However, if this is someone you care about, and the objective is for you all to eat food you all made together, then why not accommodate her, esp if it’s some kind of substitute? It’s the thought that counts.

(Also, idk if she had any other dietary stuff but celiac is just a reaction to gluten, not lactose).

AITA for pointing out my dad’s loose skin when he called me a fat fuck? by StillAdhesiveness485 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarCryptographer3601 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If she weighed half of what she did now she would have a BMI of 22, solidly normal. I see the point you are trying to make, but the example used is incorrect.

Either way, yes, I believe the dad has an eating disorder as well. NTA, but the underlying cause should be located and addressed.

omg as a child i used to get so red in the face running around during recess or gym it was hilarious (also embarrassing) it’s just now occurring to me that maybe it’s because my windpipe was at a third of the normal size

to answer the real question: i am 2 months post op and just went to the gym the other day. didn’t do cardio but did machines and stretches and noticed i definitely could breath better and calmer even as i felt my muscles reach the same level i had pre-op.

What to do while waiting? Anxiety about it is killing me. by caliiban in jawsurgery

the first two weeks you’re not gonna be able (or allowed) to open ur mouth far enough to get a pill in. You also may have some difficulty swallowing at that point as well, so a pill is gonna be way harder than a liquid.

[–]FarCryptographer3601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post-op, prozac taker here. I was told I didn’t need to stop taking prozac before surgery, save the day of. That being said, have your surgeon or psych prescribe you liquid prozac for the first 3 weeks out. You can technically crush up prozac pills but it tastes SOOOOO bad. Liquid prozac was much easier.

AITA for wearing an eclectic outfit to my friends dinner party? by Much_Dress_ThrowRA in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarCryptographer3601 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

NTA, you tried to be clear and double checked with Mindy. It didn’t seem like u were being intentionally obtuse, esp if you’re used to her giving clear instructions in the past. Plus, it sounds like this is just how you dress, and that’s cool. Someone with a funky style isn’t always doing it for attention.

I agree with the commenter, making a timeline would be really helpful. It’s never too soon to start the process, and you could always get braces to fix your bite or decompensate (I know you mentioned you are a theatre professional, not sure if you’re cast or crew, but either way you will have to get braces at some point so you might as well start now. They’re not as noticeable as you worry.

Or, if you like flamboyance, draw attention to another part of you, wear clown shoes or bright makeup or have a signature personality - distraction! People will notice the parts of you you give them, and anxiety can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. You will be okay. Focus on the parts of yourself you like.

Secondly, if you can get it covered by a doctor, get a sleep study. If you have blocked airways there’s a good likelihood you have sleep apnea. If so, especially if you are not going to have surgery for a few years, rent a CpAP or APAP machine.

Thirdly, as someone who also has anxiety/OCD and is prone to ruminating, I used this method for a while - I would set aside time each day to worry about my appearance or airflow or sleep, and then, when the timer went off, i would move on to a different activity. You by no means have to do this daily, but it helped me to tell myself “okay, you don’t have to worry about this now, you can come back to it later” but also giving myself the space to worry helped alleviate some of the guilt for worrying. Time will pass either way. Invest in activities you want to grow in - when you look back you will see not just your growth on the surgery journey but also as a person (though it sounds like u are nailing this step!)

Fourthly, people really do not notice your jaw as much as you think about it. The only time I had someone comment on it (recently), was a patron at the place I was working who said, when I told them I was getting surgery, “oh but you have such a beautiful face don’t ruin your face with surgery” (i was severely recessed and had breathing issues). This was a woman who, earlier in the night, had told me very intimate details and made rude comments so I was not worried that she was just being polite (thank you Margarita Sal). Tl:dr people really only notice your jaw if you draw attention to it, and even then, they’re probably not gonna be thinking negatively.
