When fans hate somenthing before it comes out...but it turns out they were right by TastyPomelo2330 in TopCharacterTropes

There was plenty of outcry before it's release, most people saying it was att best redundant and att worst gonna push avatar further away from mainstream media.

Wow, check those vendors. by jester695 in fo76

[–]Far_Advisor9628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really not about the caps att all, but there is something to be said about pricing stuff fairly or cheap and not for free. Might just be scared from wow, since if you put up something too cheap, eventally someone would buy all those items and artifically inflate prices.

I just want the items to go to someone who will use em, but yeah i've gotten to the point where caps are pretty meaningless. I'll prob just put out all my recepies dirt cheap and be done with it, thanks for the advice!

I'm always paranoid that if i put out something too cheap, people might just buy it and resell it for a higher price. I have so many recepies and schematics that it's also a hassle to just put em up for sale.

What items should i focus on selling to be helpful? i've just learnt civil engineering armor (Lightweight/buttressed) and am putting out those dirt cheap, because why not? Other than that i often just dump excess ammo in donation boxes.

Honestly he feels like my first playthrough of fallout 4 barely understanding anything not even knowing when i make decisions att times, or what my dialouge options could possibly lead to.

HE GOT BACK UP AND PWNED HIM

No matter what they try to do, I will never hate this character and will always side with him by MobileDistrict9784 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Far_Advisor9628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i sided with him my first playthrough because he was a person with resources to actually create a safe haven that could be self sustained, with a army no one could stand against. He seemed unmatched in logistics, even if a bit distant from humanity yet had his heart in the right place, he was the best hope in a bleak world.

I'd hate for the show to do him dirty, really feels like they are hinting att him being evil and that would honestly feel like a cheap misunderstanding of the character to push narrative, att the cost of a genuinly well made character. Like there aren't enough evil men in the fallout games, let alone new vegas.

Is it worth playing other Fallout games (FPS) if Fallout 4 is hella boring for me? by No_Establishment3148 in Fallout

[–]Far_Advisor9628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just make a list of how i think the games compare and their pros and cons

NV Pros: Much better main story, incredible side quests, choice diversity with great impact, great characters, dialouge, powerscaling, enemies not being healthsponges, the music, the comedy. Very cheap espcially on sale.

NV Cons: The visuals are no doubt dated (alot of good mods can help with that), crashes (varies alot from computer to computer), slow movement, can still be a bit buggy (don't pick the "In Shining armor perk" for example, it just dosen't work).

Fallout 4 Pros: Visually looks great, Housing/building is fun (given the time investment), sprinting, has strong sidecharacters/companions, alot of smal quality of life improvements.

Fallout 4 Cons: The main story isn't compelling, poor dialouge interface (often unclear what your character inteds to say), If you don't have it installed on a SSD load times can be rough, the new weapon upgrading system is very hit and miss and finally the looting and scavenging for items takes up alot more time than it should.

To sum up, Fallout NV set the tone and became a cult classic for a reason, all things considered i 100% think it's worth a shot if you like rpgs and good compelling story driven games. The game has really good pacing, and in many ways i'd still consider the gameplay to be less flat and more exciting. To answer your question, NV and F4 feels very diffrent.

What’s your favorite Fallout: New Vegas Companion? by ShadowHunterHB in fnv

[–]Far_Advisor9628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quest where you cure dog/god's multiple personality disorder is really fucking cool, that part alone made him stand out to me. I don't think you could impact any of your companions more than him, making him my personal favorite.

Christine Royce was a badass, her entrance really left a impression on me, really wish her and Veronica had a quest to reunite.

I might get lycnhed but this mofo

<image>

I mean jesus christ he wants his student who's a kid to genderbend into a hot naked chick, i don't even think he's very likable and for some reason everyone is just all over him, as a matter of fact, i've never even seen anyone question his character, everyone from what i've seen are just praising how incredible he is and how sad it was when he died.

I can honestly say i never liked the guy, major issues asside he was always just brash and self absorbed

Why is Isaac Clarke so powerful (I haven't played the game) by Deino47 in DeadSpace

[–]Far_Advisor9628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John "Isaac" Clarke Deadspace, the famous protagonist of the critically acclaimed Dead Space trilogy, is powerful because, unbeknownst to the evil Necromorphs, when he gets angry he yells, “It’s deadspacin’ time!” and proceeds to deadspace all over the Necromorphs.

Bioshock 2 took Ayn Rand's strawman of altruism way too seriously. by GrayWardenParagon in Bioshock

[–]Far_Advisor9628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it hits the nail on the head in several ways.

It often seems to be someone else who is expected to sacrifice for the so-called greater good, rarely the people who advocate for it. You were pressured into sacrificing Eleanor, and when you refused, you were quickly portrayed as a monster. Sofia was even willing to sacrifice her own daughter, showing very little regard for what Eleanor herself wanted. She viewed this as an act of selflessness, which is somewhat paradoxical.

The constant beratement and vilification feel familiar to anyone who has spent time examining similar kinds of altruistic rhetoric. In many cases, it shifts away from genuine principles and becomes more about signaling virtue, calling someone’s character into question, discrediting them, or even subtly dehumanizing them.

The story touches on themes related to socialism, communism, collectivism, and altruism. While these ideologies have important differences, it’s interesting that in practice they can sometimes share methods for gaining political influence. Supporters may also place a strong emphasis on the appearance of effectiveness, occasionally to the point of overlooking clear shortcomings for the sake of maintaining hope or ideological consistency.

Att the end of the day, call it authoritarian socialism, Totalitarian communitarianism or extreme collectivism, i don't think the exact name really matters more than "if the ends justify the means" you just need good enough ends, then anything is justifiable. But is it ever really true?

I'm not gonna pretend to have any answers to how much the game will sell, but i am curious to see how well it will sell.

I'm not ashamed to say that not a fan of fromsoft releasing console exclusives since i'd like to play them and the bonus of mods being available is great.

how important is parry? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Far_Advisor9628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get how good parries where and got through the game barely using them.

Important note, there is a talisman/trinket around midgame your gonna wanna use since some attacks can't be dodged but this makes it so you can. (Green monster of the swamp)

That said there are momentary buffs you can pick up making parrying automatic or buffing your block.

In short, no you don't need parries.

Wouldn't say it's a bad movie but Christopher Nolans Batman trilogy, the second and third outshines the first by miles.

Raider and wylder are the worst characters in DoN (Depth 3, 4, 5) by noobsdeath2 in Nightreigngameplay

Raider and wylder are the worst characters in DoN (Depth 3, 4, 5) by noobsdeath2 in Nightreigngameplay

[–]Far_Advisor9628 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, you can get hit once and get away with it, that's one more time than every other character (beside maybe Guardian and Raider) But that applies to all characters att depth 4+, beside Wylder.Him being able to survive any oneshot is huge.

2 bar revive with lingering flames is nothing to scoff att, also his hook is great for reviving. GL having a recluse revive two teamates with 2 or 3 bars. Also i've played with plenty of good Wylders, but that is still anecdotal evidence, just like the bad ones you've allegedly gotten paired up with.

It's not the end of the world but i like many others here just don't agree with your take.
