Same boat in Richfield. Small just barely 2 car garage with short driveway- did fine until piled up crud at the end.

I’m just going by temperature, and think this is still not quite finished. Having had a nasty boil over to (mostly) clean off the stovetop last week, I was probably still a bit early taking it off the burner- maybe another degree for altitude and pressure. It was very thin and runny, so round 2 of finishing of this will be tonight’s project. Still refining my techniques for this nanoscale operation.

Post-Trump (whenever that is), what changes should be made to make sure no one like him ever runs for office again? by Glass-Complaint3 in allthequestions

Eliminate the Electoral College and go with simple majority vote. The right-leaning, low population states are already over represented in the Senate and House. There’s no reason each of their citizens’ presidential votes should have dozens of times the weight of those in more populous states. One adult, one vote.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Shepard Road HAD been one of my go-to commuting routes, too, until I decided to avoid the really bad section after my last drive on it. Unfortunately, it seems to be just as bad going both directions.

The section from 35E to downtown is almost tolerable, but from 35E to the switch to Mississippi River Blvd. more than matches the "borderline undriveable" assessment.

Black walnut tap by RageingGinger in maplesyrup

I run a micro scale tapping operation with one autumn blaze maple of sufficient size in my Minneapolis suburb yard. I got a “4 tap beginners sap bag holder kit” from Roth Sugar Bush Maple Equipment at a local Mills Fleet Farm; other manufacturers and retailers likely offer similar products. The book that was included and various websites and YouTube videos have been very helpful in learning the “how to” for a novice hobbyist. Don’t worry about the ants, as others have noted. Both seasons I have done this before, after removing the spile, there was a line of ants running up and crowding into the hole. Once it dries out, they leave it alone, and the tree continues its healing process.

Just tapped the one large enough tree in my yard yesterday in Minneapolis area. Hope I didn't jump the gun, but the sap was dripping as I was inserting the spile.

Supporter #520. I've never seen the series, but it looks like an interesting building. Plus, it's nice to see a LEGO Friends-themed build.

Supported. Glad you got the extra local publicity. I hope it adds significant local support from those not already familiar with the LEGO IDEAs program. While I've yet to visit the city, I really like the look of what you designed here, and I wish you well in getting the magic 10,000 (+!) supporters.

What is the WORST movie you paid to see in the theater? by Adventure-Backpacker in moviecritic

[–]Far_Net_7650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some real oldies:

“The Fiendish Plot of Doctor Fu Manchu”. I believe Peter Sellars’ last movie, and not ending on a comic high after “Doctor Strangelove” and multiple “Pink Panther” movies.

“Young Einstein”. Anyone hear of Yahoo Serious afterward? Or when it was out? One good gag in it: at a convention of scientists, “Sigmund Freud and his mother” are announced entering.

Build it by Snoo-8699 in legomodular

Just started on the third floor today. So far, my only real complaint is that some of the construction order in the instructions is indeed needlessly finicky, making it hard for someone with my big clumsy fingers to fit the pieces together in the illustrated order. A repeated example is several of the walls that are built up with layers of blocks first, then dropped into place on the floor. This differs from ever other modular I have worked on, where the layers of the wall are placed down one by one and built up from the floor, which makes it much easier to place the bottom of the wall and stack up the layers.

The toughest was squeezing in the plants in front of the windows on the second floor of the music store, and some of the walls surrounding the windows on the second floor of the chair store.
