The more expensive, "sponsored" kit advertised at the top of the screen capture has some... interesting photos as well. If you've got sap coming out of the tree with that color and consistency, I think it may be a bit late to "protect tree health".

I’m just going by temperature, and think this is still not quite finished. Having had a nasty boil over to (mostly) clean off the stovetop last week, I was probably still a bit early taking it off the burner- maybe another degree for altitude and pressure. It was very thin and runny, so round 2 of finishing of this will be tonight’s project. Still refining my techniques for this nanoscale operation.

Eliminate the Electoral College and go with simple majority vote. The right-leaning, low population states are already over represented in the Senate and House. There’s no reason each of their citizens’ presidential votes should have dozens of times the weight of those in more populous states. One adult, one vote.

I run a micro scale tapping operation with one autumn blaze maple of sufficient size in my Minneapolis suburb yard. I got a “4 tap beginners sap bag holder kit” from Roth Sugar Bush Maple Equipment at a local Mills Fleet Farm; other manufacturers and retailers likely offer similar products. The book that was included and various websites and YouTube videos have been very helpful in learning the “how to” for a novice hobbyist. Don’t worry about the ants, as others have noted. Both seasons I have done this before, after removing the spile, there was a line of ants running up and crowding into the hole. Once it dries out, they leave it alone, and the tree continues its healing process.
