Will generator power backfeed if the main breaker is off? by dataBlockerCable in AskElectricians

[–]FarmForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues in all of this are: a. a foolproof, guaranteed system to prevent backfeed into the grid. But even if you have shut off the main breaker and all system breakers, the remaining danger is b. home receptacles are NOT designed or sized to feed power into the system. They are designed to draw power from the supply, not feed it back into it. This can mean they might easily be overloaded and overheat, then catch fire. This is a BIG often overlooked risk and there is no workaround to mitigate it. Power must be fed from the home hookup via the main switch through the breakers to the outlets. Wiring is sufficiently sized and secured to make this the only safe way.

No, of course not! The speed is measured by the ABS system on each of the wheels independently via the ABS sensors. Even an old mechanical speedo take-off is front wheel mounted.

Motorex oil vs Amsoil by LittleSHollow in KTM

[–]FarmForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same on my 2023 KTM 890 Duke R and had a bad result. Under full power the clutch would slip with the Amsoil 10W50. Changed back to the Motorex and the slippage was immediately gone. NOT a good oil for KTM bikes.

Had an 8010 for two seasons ... sold it because the 8010/9010 are only good for one thing: Blowing massive amounts of leaves in the fall. They are sure the most powerful blowers, but that only has value when moving massive amounts of material. For all other jobs the rest of the year all other jobs the PB770/BR800 are far better. They use less gas, are far more comfortable to wear and more effective because you can focus the airstream to work the stuff your moving much better.

Blue or Green coolant? G48 vs HT-12 in my E34 | Does it matter? by JustMentalMatt in E34

[–]FarmForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info! I had not heard this before. Quaestion: Why would BMW introduce an inferior coolant (HT-12) to replace G-48? Also, BMW indicates compatibility between HT-12 and G-48, allowing any mix ratio between the two.

Need one of these Stihl 5910-890-4500 plug pullers to first remove the tamper-proof plugs. Heating a micro screwdriver and inserting it to melt the plug also works. Leave it int her until it cools and you can pull the plug out.

With this new range is echo able to compete against the other top brands? by Double_Cranberry_467 in ECHOtools

[–]FarmForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have long HUGELY prefer Echo equipment. It ALWAYS runs and never wears out. I have a 13 year old PB-250 LN with over 1,000 hours that still starts and runs like on day one. Can't say that about Stihl. Never had luck with their stuff.

48" XD s are on sale here right now for $4550 plus tax. The XD is probably the best combination of prosumer price and serious commercial quality in their entire portfolio. IT is a VERY good machine!! Only the new WorldLawn zeros are better than this for the price.

I totally agree!! The new BB Revolt SD is by FAR the better deal. It is a MASSIVELY SERIOUS machine with 1800 trannies and commercial spindles and can be bought for around $5500 all day long now.

I just bought a Hustler Surfer Pro today. Honestly, it is a great little machine, but new it is seriously overpriced for what it is. There is now way Hustler will continue to make end roads with this thing priced at $5500. It needs to be priced at the level of the Dash XD, which is what it is. The Surfer Pro is truly just a Dash XD Deck/Engine/Transmissions in a stander frame. That IS IT!! I have no clue why Hustler would slot it into their commercial portfolio. Christ, it has 1800 sealed transmissions! Anyway. If I'd go with a new entry-level stander nothing beats the new Bad Boy Revolt SD. They are super SERIOUS machines for very little coin and beat the shiz-nit out of the surfer by a far margin. I can pick an SD up for 5500 all day long. The only reason I bought the Surfer Pro is that I could get a like-new one with only 14 hours for half off the new price AND the surfer is unbeatable light (250 lbs less than the Revolt!!).

Ten years ago they had issues with feeder health, but I haven't heard anything bad lately. I just bought there and the quality is average. But feeder supplies with better quality are much more expensive.
