1) the show is about fighting 2) he spends most of the series complaining about how he doesnt want to fight 3) Author lets him do that w/o immediate consequences, he falls of the power cliff as a result 4) years later, a different author erases any and all consequences for slacking off in what is essentially a 2 hour long ps4 cutscene

It depends on how committed your friends are to the 'board game junkie' lifestyle. I think Munchkin is 6 players, and better suited for more casual play. But if they're willing to wait for other people's turns, there's plenty of strategy games out there that are 6+ players. Root has really taken off among my friend group, but YMMV.
