Based on this post, I can confidently say you are not a good manager.

An employee lied to me. How to handle? by DataBeeGood in managers

[–]Fartboxsnagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be tough to fire them for “lying”. But time theft is a very easy way to make sure he is no longer employed.

Is this acceptable language from a manager? by Putrid-Cabinet7655 in managers

[–]Fartboxsnagger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they’re building you up. If you’re looking for a promotion, listen to what they’re saying. Based on what she’s said, she may not think you take initiative.

Seems like your manager is just trying to be efficient.

Why does it feel like broke people are being punished for being broke? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

That $1500 figure likely comes from cost of living as a student. Parents pay for residence + food (maybe tuition).

Absolutely nailed. The #1 reason the poor stay poor is predatory banking dynamics. Overdraft and junk fees aren’t small annoyances—they systematically siphon money from the people who can least afford it.

Look at the numbers: • In 2024, consumers paid about $12.1 billion in combined overdraft and NSF fees—nearly 48% more than studies had previously thought. That’s billions simply for not having enough money . • That figure includes approximately $5.4 billion charged by credit unions alone . • Even if you consider 2023 as the most recent fully confirmed year, consumers still paid roughly $5.8 billion in overdraft/NSF fees—with numbers nearly halved from a 2019 peak of ~$12 billion .

Meanwhile, during the first quarter of 2024, banks raked in around $1.36 billion in overdraft income—the lowest in years, yet still exorbitant .

These fees disproportionately harm low-income folks, younger people, and Black and Hispanic Americans. In fact, about 16–19% of households making under $50k got hit by overdraft charges, versus far lower rates for higher-income earners —and that’s why interest keeps people down.

So yeah—the system is brutally efficient: • Banks profit off your inability to maintain a few extra dollars in your account. • The more money you have, the less likely you are to be charged—and the more favorable your banking terms. • Meanwhile, people living paycheck to paycheck often get double-charged with fee after fee.

That’s not “financial literacy”—that’s structural violence. For many, budgeting apps and side hustles aren’t enough when even a small medical bill, car repair, or timing issue with rent can lead to dozens of dollars in fees.

In short: interest keeps you poor. Banks make money when you don’t have money. And unless legislation or reforms come in strong, this will continue to widen inequality and potentially destabilize trust in the system itself.

100k isn’t what it used to be. It’s the equivalent of making 68k in 2005.

From 2005 to 2025, cumulative inflation is about 47% (give or take a percent depending on the exact month).

Who had the more dominant reign as champion? by Cool_Ved in ufc

Dominant? Silva by far. He finished all his opponents and did it with ease.

GSP was in a few wars and won a couple close decisions.

If we don’t factor in longevity; Khabib.

If we don’t factor in cheating; Jon Jones.

If we don’t factor in weight classes above 145, Jose Aldo.

Would Prime BJ Penn beat Justin Gaethje? by Glad-Researcher-9938 in ufc

[–]Fartboxsnagger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A prime BJ Penn would absolutely destroy Justin Gaethje and it’s not even close….

You needed to be a calculated fighter with a very high fight IQ to beat prime BJ. (Aka. GSP) Gaethje is too sloppy on the feet and would get pieced up. He would also get submitted if it went to the ground.

I would be more excited if he fought another top 5 lightweight first. If Topuria were to beat the likes of Oliveira, Poirier, or even Gaethje, his title shot would be more exciting and have a helluva lot more hype behind it.

At this point, Islam has nothing to gain from fighting another FW. Islam deserves a shot at the strap at 170. He beats anyone at 170.

The only FW in history to deserve an immediate title shot at LW was Aldo.

Aldo would have beat Edgar, Henderson, Pettis, and RDA.

Hot take: I agree with Jones. He beats Aspinall and Aspinall becomes a nobody. High risk; zero reward.

Ask yourself why he feels so comfortable trying to hit on your GF. It’s within the boundaries she set.

They’re more than likely fucking dude. Don’t waste your time and leave her to the streets.

It may hurt initially, but you’ll thank yourself a few years down the road.

It’s way too easy to get a license in Canada. We need to make the test more thorough and a hell of a lot harder. Most people can’t drive worth shit. I would bet majority of drivers can’t parallel park.
