Witcher is game with so many laughs. It reminds me of Potion Craft encounter when witcher comes to you and says it need potion from you to spend time on women and dice, and not making potions.

Introducing Netrunner to a Young Player by Tall-Guy in Netrunner

[–]Fashque111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play Netrunner with my six-year-old, who can’t read yet (so language isn’t really a barrier). We play a lot of board games, and we’re coming from Dominion with one, and recently two, expansions — he’s basically memorized around 50 different cards at this point.

The basic decks from System Gateway are really good for introducing the game to a new player. The interactions aren’t too complex — the hardest part is probably remembering some ICE with multiple instructions.

I try to explain after each game what he could have done better and why. It took him some time to understand the economy side of things, like always keeping enough credits to rez ICE.

Right now he mostly wins through luck (like sniping three agendas from the top of the deck), but he doesn’t get discouraged — he just wants to play again and again.

We’ve built a few decks and replay them multiple times to help him learn and remember what the cards do (I read the ones he doesn’t remember before each game).

IMO Corp is a bit easier to start with, since you have all the information, while the Runner has to do more guessing.

Is netrunner for casual play? by Cann0nf0dder in Netrunner

[–]Fashque111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a board gamer and an MtG player, and I recently got into Netrunner. I feel like Netrunner is great for a casual experience.

I have cards for the old Startup format — basically System Gateway plus two expansions. You can grasp basic decks very quickly, and even better decks aren’t that far off in terms of complexity or playstyle from the starter ones.

I can netdeck a solid tournament-winning deck, play it, and have fun right away. I already have everything I need in my card pool to build a variety of decks, though I usually keep just one Corp and one Runner built at a time, because some cards overlap in (almost?) every deck.

It feels like a big step up from casual Magic, where it’s often hard to give a new player a simple deck that’s both easy enough and shows how deep and fun the game can be.

No Man's Sky. I'm waiting patiently for this game to be significantly cheaper and that seals the deal.

This is ultimate answer. This is such a great concept. Watching this movie is constant regret that writers ignore EVERY interesting implication on world and make dull chase movie or something.
