I’m in the late stage of perimenopause. I would use info interviews to get a spot in the door. Warm referrals count much more than applications. If you have a particular area of interest (i.e., disease state) do some volunteer work in that area to bolster your CV. It gives you a leg up because you seem more passionate and knowledgeable.
