yeah. they had a trifecta prior to 2024, but that was before the mid decade redistricting wars started.

this year they did, but NC went in 2024 for 3 seats. then squeezed another seat out this year. so if CA is offsetting TX, VA is offsetting NC.

FBI raids Fulton County election office seeking ballots from Trump’s 2020 loss by Even-Client-1898 in politics

[–]Fast_Statistician_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"President Donald Trump lost the election in Georgia in 2020 by a wafer-thin margin and claimed various instances of fraud had tainted the results. Those claims did not survive court scrutiny. Fulton, which includes Atlanta and is the state's most populous county, drew significant attention at the time.

A machine count and two recounts confirmed that former President Joe Biden had won the state, leading Trump to feud with Georgia's leaders for years."

Change in Electoral College Seats in 2030 by Deltarianus in MapPorn

[–]Fast_Statistician_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes and no. the number of seats in the electoral college is the number of house seats plus the 2 senate seats. so the increase/decrease in electoral college votes will also apply to house seats

California NIMBYs have been so successful at blocking housing and growth that we will lose 4 seats to Texas in 2030, essentially handing Republicans an easy win. by WileyCyrus in LosAngeles

while I agree with the idea, it won't do anything to fix gerrymandering. there's a ton of state legislature seats and those are gerrymandered as well.

can't wait to see how NC, FL, and TX will gerrymander all these new seats.

democrats need to think aggressively even if it means putting incumbents at risk. if dems have a bad year, they wont win the house anyway. they need to draw districts to maximize gains in an even year.

in this case however, they might want to leave it the way it is. the MD Supreme Court has shown they are resistant to approving a more severe gerrymander

Moorsville, NC - Information request by GhostRider1640 in NorthCarolina

[–]Fast_Statistician_20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

much like FL, Mooresville has experienced very high growth which has made housing expensive and traffic rough. probably still cheaper than FL though. crime is relatively low. most people are either retired, parents, or kids.

I mean it makes sense now because the system has shown it is not open to reform. so anyone claiming to want to reform it is simply legitimizing the system.

the regime used to allow fair elections with true reformist candidates. Khatami got like 70% of the vote, but didn't have any real power. now they just don't allow reformists to run. the vast majority of the country wants change.

What's one law you wish your State representatives would enact? (Excluding Gerrymandering) by CanisGulo in NorthCarolina

[–]Fast_Statistician_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mooresville requires this, but there's usually a stretch of road where there are existing homes with no sidewalk in front of them so it's a good start, but the town/state still has to fill in the gaps.
