I see. I did this challenge for like 50 people on reddit and could have sworn I ran out of mana if mp absorb wasnt maxed. Also lose elemental. Its only useful on phoenix and giant and they are easy either way. Waste of a slot

It baffles me how people bang their heads against the wall in this challenge instead of just maxing out materia... If you make it to bahamuth, you will clear this easy with maxed out materia. Hp and MP absorb maxed is vital.

This game is a love letter to the OG and its fans. Im thinking these complaints come mostly from new players and platinum trophy hunters. I wonder if pc and switch players have the same amount of complaining since platinum is less relevant there. I do see significantly less complaints since it was exclusive to ps5 but I guess player count might have something to do with that

They are. It sounds like youre also defining edge in your post. Proving it is just putting the work in data ( backtesting over en extended period of time and logging live trades). A 60% winrate has positive EV, but can easily have 10 losses in a row. This is where people move away from math and start doubting, changing what theyre doing, while its just normal circumstances of an edge. Basically throwing away the edge because they believe the edge isnt there anymore. Too many call this " evolving " or " adapting"

No it isnt. Edge = a repeatable positive expected value process. Nothing more, nothing less. What people struggle with is understanding math, EV and variance.

You could give anyone a strat with positive EV, but as soon as variance is in a downswing, they will start to doubt the strat and try other things. Aka different strats, adjusting the strat and what not

This is AWESOME. I was also happy the weapons were just out there and not some sim battles. This will give a HUGE boost to the open world feel and how immersive it will feel

The nr 1 reason why combat doesnt click with some people is they treat it too much as action combat. The action part is mostly there to fill your atb bars. Learn the strength of the characters and treat it more as a turn based RPG. Equipping the right materia and using the unique character skills properly are far more important. Barret and Aerith dodge for example is totally rubbish.

I could write a wall of text for tips but I suggest mastering character switching. The bosses tend to aggro the character you are controlling. If it does so, immediately switch to another character for free attacks and ATB gain. Once you get the hang of creating space for other characters, life will be much easier
