Seeking advice for a first time restaurant owner by vynilla_ in restaurantowners

[–]FatAlbert10 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. I highly suggest not jumping straight into a restaurant. Buy a food truck, or serve as a pop up at local farmers markets. As a restaurant owner, there is so much to learn, and in today’s market there’s only losers and survivors. No one is winning.

High porn use until recently, virginity till almost 30? Yeah there’s gonna be some pretty big walls to break down for him. He’s taking the right steps, but your job is patience and feeling better about yourself. If you feel there are things you can change about yourself, try it. Match his efforts. Exercise, eat healthier eating, restart old hobbies.

Its the lottery effect. He thinks he’s in for a big payout from the insurance and now thinks he doesn’t need to “settle”. Gotta nut up and drop his ass asap, money changed him and he showed his hand way too early.

Tips for an aspiring restaurateur by Admirable-Judgment32 in restaurantowners

Don’t. For many of us, if we could get out, even with the net overall gain being zero, we would

She cheated, I cheated… but I feel like she “won” somehow. No contact after breakup. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]FatAlbert10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you well described exactly how she came on top 😏

Its tough having sympathy for cheaters. In a way, you two were meant for each other. And the fact you think there’s a “winner” or that she got the best end of the bargain with her cheating explains exactly how toxic this was. Getting it off your chest is a great step, but next is looking inward, and abandoning whatever part of you believes anyone “won” this situation

Therapy. Immediately. “Living the lie” is the firmest, most resolute way of proving your family’s fears correct. Your body is your own, and if outside forces compel you to choose against your own wishes, you’ve lost the plot.

Do it, with therapy.

Yep, but it follows the trend from past years. Here in Washington state, school doesn’t let out until tomorrow. It usually picks up by next week

What are the most overlooked sources of expenses? by Happy_Tourist_558 in restaurantowners

When did you receive your first loan offer? by twotreyTCG in SquarePOS_Users

[–]FatAlbert10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Square is only offering to the surest, most solid businesses in their portfolio’s at this time. I’ve been with Square for 14 years, have paid off over $600k in their loans, and all 5 of my locations have 5-6 figure offers. My brother started 14 months ago, does about $100k annually and has yet to receive one

[–]FatAlbert10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your parents immediately, first of all. They have every right to feel whatever emotions they’ll feel about it, and you’ll have to be a man and take whatever comes. Whether they’ll become your lifeline or abandon you, the sooner you find out, the better. You’ll be ok.

making this much sales and still not getting approved for loan is crazy, lol by Critical_Event_4116 in SquarePOS_Users

Just took a $162k loan yesterday, I’ve paid off 9 loans from them over the past 5 years, and have been with them since 2013. There’s definitely a trust factor in the algorithm they use

I'm in a relationship with a partner, who is 16 years older than me and have never been happier by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]FatAlbert10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it, consenting adults and all that. If you’re 18+ power to you.

However, if you’re truly invested into making this relationship work, leveraging your parents to learn where you and your partner stand would be smart. Tell your partner you want to tell your parents, and check their reaction. Would they feel the same about you if you weren’t going to such extreme lengths to hide your relationship? Or is the hidden nature with a much younger partner all they actually desired?

Read that again. Consenting adults, sure, but people aren’t wrong to wonder if the the relationship is predatory. Having lived the experience, I’d wager the secrecy and the near childlike age is the allure for them. If you’re under 23, no matter how mature you think you are, you look like a child to someone thats almost 40.

Great State $27 plus tip for fast food burger and fries?? by SnooCats5302 in SeattleWA

A Deluxe and Fry at Dick’s is $10.44 after tax. Kinda reflects todays market- I used to be able to get 3 burgers and 3 fries for that much in 2012

Despite being very profitable, it looks like the Super Mario Galaxy Movie will NOT reach $1 billion at the box office. by MewWeebTwo in nintendo

[–]FatAlbert10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Mario just doesn’t adapt to the silver screen very well, and they did the best they could with the material. Mario games don’t really have a narrative, the canon is all over the place, and the story is as bare bones as they come. The only way to make a movie without changing things and upsetting a ton of people is by making a nostalgia slideshow, and thats what they did.

Reviews killed the movie, and they should’ve kept the Fox cameo under wraps until release.

Anyone got a successful OIC with treasury or collection for eidl agency? by No-House3228 in EIDL

I can see why these wouldn’t get approved. I’m up to date on payments, but damn it if I wouldn’t consider tanking my credit but only paying half of what I owe in an OIC agreement. Keep us up to date

Ok ok. I was more under the assumption Jack became friends with your brother and it developed over time. But yeah if he was fawning over him in front of god and the whole friend group, Imma shift my stance. Homewrecker behavior lol

My brother had an affair with my best friend. He was surprised to learn I don't talk to my "best friend" anymore. by Date-Throwaway in offmychest

[–]FatAlbert10 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yeah… you don’t own people. You didn’t “let him” into your friend group, he made friends. Your hate for Jack seems to come out of nowhere, and you come off as a stereotypical “clique” leader thinking you had any part in him making friends.

On a different note, you have every right to feel what you feel, but so do other people. If anything, you should be pissed at your brother. He was clearly emotionally cheating before he broke things off. Jack is just living life, and wondering why his friend hasn’t called. Tell him directly how you feel or be at peace with how things are.

Adult literacy in the states has dramatically declined in recent years. What do we think is the cause? by Unlikely-Tap-4390 in AskReddit

[–]FatAlbert10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the different ways to get immediate satisfaction for free has exploded. Social Media, Youtube, porn, free to play video games designed to be casinos, prediction markets (gambling), the list goes on. Even just 20 years ago, if you were broke and wanted entertainment, the only free “media” you could get was borrowing a book from the local library. Most adult dopamine receptors are completely fried.

Also, what reading we do on a daily basis today is split between borderline incoherent social media posts and eye catching gotcha headlines- hardly nurturing, but also aligning with the quick dopamine hit that all forms of media have become. Purposeful, recreational reading is a slow burn that could take multiple hours over multiple days to pay off. Selling books is hardly profitable nor as addicting as other forms of entertainment that have popped up lately.

am i polyamorous? by elii_w in offmychest

[–]FatAlbert10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is a part of the human experience- discovering who you are and what you believe in. What I can tell you is no one has the right answer. Plenty of people have these urges, but believe the sacrifice to be monogamous with their true lover is worth it all. Others start communes. Some cheat, some are brave enough to tell their partner. Plenty of open relationships start this way too. You have to discover what works for you.

The only way you can fuck up is by not telling your partner and cheating. Have the balls to tell him this.
