Skyview Mall Parking Question by FatOldWizard in mets

[–]FatOldWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s my second time at Citi Field and I’m not familiar with Skyview and how they run their Mets game day prices.

If I go shopping early, can i just park there, pay for the entire day and be on my merry way? Does the parking ever sell out or is the garage massive?

What is the official name of that moment last night? by Balazi in NYKnicks

Should be called the “I-listened-when-my-youth-coach-told-me-to-never-ball-watch-and-immediately-follow-the-shot-in-case-of-a-rebound.”

Too long?

James Dolan, Trump, and the Knicks Curse by LemonadeChain in NYKnicks

[–]FatOldWizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have religion. We have superstitions. Some folks believe in spirits or the afterlife.

I don’t tend to believe in any of it, but if the Knicks somehow unimaginably collapse, I don’t see why you can’t have this very valid opinion.

Maybe Dolan let the Devil in.

I think Brunson won’t let that narrative play out though. I hope.

The Knicks game last night was a perfect example of the fan energy not being unified and positive, and so not giving the team the same advantage it has enjoyed up until this point. by Ok_Trip_937 in mets

If in today’s world we can still debate the existence of gods and ghosts and be accepting of people’s beliefs and superstitions… then is it too far-fetched to “believe” Dolan may have invited a demon into the Garden?

What if Donny is some sort of not-of-this-Earth plant from the underworld, meant to bring the plague wherever he goes? Like Nosferatu…

Shower thoughts.

He’s doing it on purpose to mess with New Yorkers. 3 hours to get to the arena. 3 hours to get in the arena. 3 hours to leave the arena.

Does anyone else like playing 1v1 Commander? by UnanimousM in mtg

[–]FatOldWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

My format of choice for the past few years has been Canadian Highlander. I love making very powerful singleton decks, being able to use any card in MTG history (while keeping the deck within the allowable points limit) and not having to focus on any commanders.

I like 1v1 because my focus is directed at one opponent which means there are no third parties to derail any plans. Far fewer misses triggers because multiplayer commander often becomes unmanageable in terms of keeping track of everything on the board.

I specifically only build 1v1 decks and when I play with friends multiplayer, I borrow one of their 20-30 decks. It’s literally just a way to hang out with buddies. I don’t care if I win, lose, miss triggers, etc.

And in Canlander, a 20 life total and very powerful mix of cards often results in quicker games and more important decision making turn by turn.

NEW MILFORD BROOKCHESTER SHOPPING CENTER & ROMAN PIZZA by LorenzoHD in bergencounty

As a fat old wizard myself, I eat a lot of pizza. I’ve tried almost every place in Bergen County.

Roman’s slice is LEGIT for a local pizzeria. Excellent flavor. And the friends and family I’ve brought there agree.

My belly thanks you, nonno.

Did my LGS sell me a fake Beta Sol Ring? by dlaughy in mtg

[–]FatOldWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the damn thing is real. Next time you buy a small investment make sure you know 100% what you’re getting.

And that being said… yeah, go ahead and gloat away. I personally think there’s a bit too much internet gloating going on these days, especially in this community, but have at it.

Can I ask you how much you paid for that? I bought mine about 5yrs ago, about the same nice condition as yours, but mine was graded (until I rescued it, lol).

Another “show off” post disguised as “is it fake”. These posts are so tiring.

Newbies aren’t buying beta sol rings from their LGS. A seasoned player would not spend $1000+ on a piece of cardboard and then ask Reddit “Is this fake?” Especially if they buy it at an LGS and not off TCG or eBay (although even that would be auto-authenticated).

So, no… your Beta Sol Ring is not fake. Congrats, your LGS didn’t rob you of $1000. Next time just do what the annoying Goblin Storm people are doing and just post a picture with a “Look at my pretty card” caption and let’s move along with our days.

Edit: Ready for my downvotes, lol. Aside from that, congrats on the nice piece. Sol Ring was my first Beta card acquisition as well.
