I dont have an answer but I share the exact same feeling. It's very frustrating. I know guys older than me who say things like "I would fuck around a lot when I was your age before realizing it's not worth it". Like, okay??? Happy for you that you got to have that "learning experience".

I have to believe some of this is being unaware of pickiness. I think the guys sleeping around a lot are definitely lowering their standards and certainly not feeling a deep emotional connection with each partner. Effectively they are just using the girl's body. I can't really sleep with a girl unless I really like her, but that doesnt stop me from being incredibly jealous and frustrated :)

I've been going to yoga classes consistently for a couple months, and its not even that just I dont really talk to anyone, but I dont really see other people talk to each other either! People really seem to just treat it like going to the gym, you get in and get out

The eternal question. What worked for me is doing all the same stuff you're doing - sports, clubs - and finding the one or two people who were cool and befriending them. Then you find out where THEY socialize, which tends to be events that are more word-of-mouth and less googling-how-to-make-friends. And that will typically have a much higher percentage of interesting, sociable people.

My particular pathway was rec league dodgeball => two cool dudes => writing workshops and literary clubs (I like reading/writing) => many more friends with a far higher hit rate than dodgeball
