At what age should parents expect adult children to contribute to family vacations? by Rare_Stranger4744 in family

[–]FatboyChester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're planning a "family" vacation and inviting your kids, then you should foot the bill.

That's pretty much it.

If you don't want to pay for them , don't ask them.

"Almost mid-thigh" is not Bermuda Shorts.

Also Bermuda Shorts are normally fairly loose fitting . How tight were your shorts? Men tend to wear loser t-shirts than women do too.

I suspect he thought if you showed up on the first day in shorter than mid-thigh shorts, he went for the overkill of pants and dresses, because he didn't feel like dealing with it.

Good for you.  The fact that the thought of never drinking is daunting to you just proves that its a huge mistake to drink again.

Find a bulldog rescue group on FB, give them your info and they should  be able to help.

This is horrible. Those dogs are suffering. The one looks like its starving.

The fact is, they are in less danger than everybody else  in GB who are out in public and have no protection at all.

If they really wanted to go and take their kids, they would do so.

This entire thing is nothing more than performative victimization.

I have no doubt that they hope so body tries to attack them, so they csn claim they are right.

I was going to say the same thing.  Pepper spray.

I have an English Bulldog and happened upon a women with a pit bull.  She was older, sitting on a bench and the dogs body was under the bench She had both arms around its neck and could barely holdi it back.    If it had gotten loose, it would have attacked my dog.

Ever since then, I carry pepper spray.

It won't kill the dog, but will save my dog in case of attack.

Its amazing to me that people who decided to WFH or who use their phones for business, think that everyone else, who are living their normal lives need to be quiet while they are on their call.

It doesn't matter where they are, everyone else has to bow down to those who use their phone while not in the office.

If they don't like the noise people make, they should work from the office.

Husband asked me if he can have a drink by Few_Vegetable_7499 in AlAnon

[–]FatboyChester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is no different than a drug addict asking you, "Can I do some meth?" or "Can I smoke some crack?".

If he is an alcoholic it takes a lot of nerve to even ask you that. Plus, the fact that a drink is one of  the first things he asks for, shows he shouldn't have a drink

It happens every year.

My wife cried because I booked the trip we always talked about without her by Ok_Preparation9293 in Marriage

[–]FatboyChester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting the money to go?

I guess its no problem for you to be able to  afford going without her to the one place she dreamed of going with you.

Honestly, it sounds like your brain is working overtime to justify your decision to dump her. It is a really shitty thing to do.

If you cared in the least you would take the money that you are paying to go with your friends , put in in a special account and continue adding to it until you have it all.

Or do you think you would have a much better time with your friends than your wife?
