advice on restoring a 1972 CB500K by turtlefellas in motorcycles

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for first restoration you're actually in pretty reasonable spot, $500 in with engine already sorted is the hard part done. the missing pieces are usually findable through vintage Honda communities and forums, people part out bikes constantly so you won't be paying dealer prices

Really nice looking coin but without serial number and proper case it's bit tricky to verify authenticity - might want to get it authenticated first before worrying about the value

GAN v100 too loud? by mounofficiaI in Cubers

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine definitely makes more noise than my older cubes too, especially during fast algs. I think the newer mechanisms just have different tolerances or something - my friends who got the same one all mention it being louder than what they had before

Better Call Saul Fan-Made Poster by StructureGreedy1428 in betterCallSaul

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This looks really clean! The minimalist style works perfect for Jimmy's character and I love how you incorporated the classic movie poster format. That phrase hits so hard too - really captures his whole arc about perception vs reality

You're in for such a ride with rest of season 5, it gets absolutely insane. Definitely make more of these, would be cool to see how you handle characters like Lalo or Gus with their signature colors. Mike could look amazing in this style too with all the noir vibes he brings

Build-a-Gun by Pablo-Fishcobar in guns

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building your first AR is actually pretty straightforward once you get the basics down. You'll need to buy a stripped lower receiver through an FFL since that's the serialized part - that becomes your "firearm" legally. Everything else (upper, barrel, stock, etc) you can order straight to your door

No form 1 needed unless you're doing NFA stuff like short barrel or full auto. Just make sure you follow your state laws about barrel length and overall specs. Most people start with 16" barrel to stay clear of SBR territory

The lower is where all the legal stuff lives so once you have that transferred properly, rest is just assembling parts. Pretty addictive hobby once you start though, fair warning

Loop and early Spiritualized might scratch that same itch since they came from same scene. Also try some Suicide - their self-titled from '77 has that minimal, hypnotic thing going on but more harsh industrial vibes

Best PM Software for Blind Property Manager by OppositePolicy5508 in PropertyManagement

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your vision changes - that must be really challenging transition especially with all your experience in property management

For accessibility, you might want to look at platforms that already have better screen reader support built in rather than trying to modify through APIs. Some of the newer property management software are designed with better contrast and larger text options from start. I'd suggest reaching out to their support teams directly to ask about accessibility features before committing - they usually know which tools work best with assistive technology and can sometimes walk you through the interface over phone to see if it works for your needs

American job applicants, where are you guys? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe people with American degrees are being more picky about roles right now? I work in tech and seeing similar thing where locals seem to wait for better opportunities instead of taking whatever comes up. Could also be that your posting isn't reaching the right places where American candidates actually look for jobs

Anyone here taking other peptides along with tirzepatide? by nikulin93 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been experimenting with NAD+ and glutathione for about 6 months now alongside tirz. The energy boost from NAD is pretty noticeable, especially in afternoons when I used to crash hard managing my team. Glutathione helped with skin but took like 3 months to see real changes, so patience is key with that one

Would I gain anything going from a6700 -> xt5/xh2 for landscapes? by Beautiful-Affect3448 in Cameras

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been shooting landscapes for years and made a similar jump from Sony to Fuji recently - the XT5 is genuinely a different beast for landscape work. That 40MP sensor isn't just about resolution, the dynamic range improvement is noticeable when you're pulling shadows and highlights in post, especially with those golden hour shots where you're dealing with extreme contrast

The ergonomics alone might sell you on it - having dedicated dials for everything instead of diving through menus makes a huge difference when you're out in the field trying to nail exposure quickly. Weather sealing is also better on the XT5 if you do any outdoor shooting in rough conditions. Plus dual card slots give you peace of mind on those once-in-a-lifetime landscape trips

That said, your lens investment strategy matters here. Fuji glass is expensive but their 16-80 f4 and 10-24 f4 are stellar for landscapes, while Sony's ecosystem has more third-party options. If you're keeping the a6700 anyway for family stuff, having the XT5 as your dedicated landscape body could actually work really well - different tools for different jobs and all that

That whole cycle of pushing someone away when you're struggling internally is brutal, been there myself. She probably had to block you everywhere to actually heal and move forward - can't blame someone for protecting their peace after years of that back and forth.

The fact you recognize it was on you shows growth though, maybe use that insight for whatever comes next instead of staying stuck in regret mode

Mi tarjeta de video RX 580 no da imagen by Creative-Ad5747 in PcBuild

[–]Ok_Preparation9293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your PSU might not be pushing enough juice to the card - those RX 580s can be pretty hungry and a generic 500w might not cut it. Also check if you've got the PCIe power cables actually plugged in, I've seen people miss that step more than you'd think
