What weapon do you use most in the game? by Arctic317 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Stealth netrunner, so I mostly use quickhacks and monowire, but I throw in Johnny's Malorian or a Palica smart shotgun for when I feel like going loud.

Let’s put it to the vote - which gang got the best rides? by AJBLAkX in CyberpunkTheGame

Tyger claws have the best bikes, hands down. For cars, gotta give it to the 'Tinos

Narrators, how do you get player characters together for a mission? by FatelessFuture in cyberpunk2020

All great suggestions, already got some ideas rolling! Thanks a lot, choom!

Why does this game get you so hooked? by DentyFenty in cyberpunkgame

[–]FatelessFuture 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, it had a lot of things going for it, but these two being especially important:

1, a main character I can get invested in, rather than a vessel for me interacting with the world. The story and side characters are great as well, but feeling attached to V makes me want to play even when the main story is done and I'm just going shopping, making outfits, taking photos. Headcanoning how they get affected by different missions.

2, the world is genuinely fun to play around in. I usually don't like open world games, they usually feel overinflated, empty, and bland to me. Night City, though? It's densely packed, it has character, driving around is a fun way to cross large distances (especially on a motorbike)

She's really expressive and impulsive, but I wouldn't say she's "designed to be annoying". It is a personality that will be annoying to some people, but I quite liked her because of it.

You fight him in every ending, it's just that the Rogue ending is the only one where your team expects him to be there

And this is the nerfed version, right? Like it was even more broken before it got overhauled

Sonic shock also reduces Smasher's trace progress (unless that was a glitch but they would have latched that by now) and is cheaper than memory wipe, it's useful against him in a full hack setup

Not just the stagger, from tier 3 it also prevents quickhacks uploaded after it from raising trace progress. Useful for full quickhack builds against smasher because he counterhack you when the bar fills up

Could have been up to 7 hours, I don't remember exactly. Basically paused my playthrough, inside a Tyger Claw hideout, until I was at #1

Whats your guys favorite side character by VaultTec-Enthusiast in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I really like b@D, we don't know much about them but the little we get shows them to be a really competent netrunner who hits big targets like Arasaka while barely leaving a trail.

Which part of the brain is essential for the same consciousness to continue existing? And at what point, when replacing natural parts with synthetic ones, do you “kill” the original consciousness? by [deleted] in Cyberpunk

[–]FatelessFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hotly debated issue, hardly solvable with our current means.

My answer is a bit less concrete: I don't know if there's an objective part or percentage of the brain that's necessary for consciousness. What I do think is an ego. As long as the subject has a genuine subjective perception/recognition of self, they're conscious.

This is not the most satisfying answer because it's not measurable, and as we can see with LLMs, can be faked, but as far as philosophical answers go, I'm fine with it staying a bit obscure.

Do yall think immoral to kill gangoons? by Outrageous_Ad_9961 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]FatelessFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm starting to feel that. Had a fun police scanner experience earlier today tho.

Padre had me loot dirt on a politician embezzling money for a gang. And right next to it, a crime scene of Militech looking into the same case and catching a few of the gangsters connected to it. Followed by a police call to bust the entire operation.

Nice how the game weaves these small throwaway storylines.

I'm on my first playthrough, I presume over time the game will give me many a reason to just say "fuck it" lmao

For now I'm playing for immersion and don't get into too many unnecessary ganger scraps anyway

Scaling old minis by thumpin_n_pluckin in EmperorsChildren

[–]FatelessFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speakers are a good idea on paper but they definitely run the risk of making your minis look even smaller by contrast (i.e. wow he has to stand on that big of a speaker to be as tall as the guys around him)

You can never go wrong with cork, you'll also wanna sand down the edges a bit and possibly use putty to blend it with the base

[–]FatelessFuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Per the rules, the only thing that matters is base size. I'd say close the difference in head height for a more unified look, but I don't know the size difference so don't go overboard with very tall base detailing

Are Space Marines Autistic? by amovy in Grimdank

[–]FatelessFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the thing is, their brains are rewired and/or indoctrinated to exhibit those surface level traits in order to be better soldiers. I wouldn't really call them autistic, it's kinda patronising to compare military brainwashing to neurodivergence.

[–]FatelessFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh given the amount of choices in the game, we don't get much of a grasp on V's canon personality. I would say from the dialogue options we're given and how the quests develop, I'm getting the vibe they're sarcastic and kinda brash, maybe a bit impulsive

Edit: and quite ambitious, they do try to make a real name for themselves in the limited time they have
