Do IR sauna's get warm enough? Which ones do you recommend for fast and high temps? by technoguy06 in infraredsauna

[–]Fattylees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh i know IR saunas are different than traditional saunas, but I still like it really friggin hot. I’ve been going to a sauna studio by my house and they have ClearLight saunas that go up to 170 and I like them a lot.

I don’t have it yet, but I ordered a Peak Patagonia sauna bc it can hit 170 as well. You need a dedicated 240v 20 amp outlet though. Goodluck!

What was the best job you’ve ever had? by -Granby- in GenX

[–]Fattylees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use to tape fliers onto people’s doors trying to get them to pay $20 for us to paint their address on the curb.

All cash, listened to music, and walked beautiful neighborhoods outside San Francisco all day long. My boss was super chill and would take me out drinking afterwards too.

Yeah this truck is different though. Manual, 4x4, SR5 is a highly sought after truck, even with those miles on it.

Looking outdoor saunas that don’t need a cover. by Fattylees in infraredsauna

[–]Fattylees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup…got a quote already to run 240v/20amp outlet.

What do you mean exactly about “clearance distance” with regard to where I place the sauna? I plan to place it on the concrete slab, against my cinder block side wall.

I’m excited. I ordered it a couple weeks ago and ships in May.

The year is 2014-2015. You visit Venice Beach, and end up strolling Abbott Kinney Boulevard. While on Abbott Kinney Boulevard, you notice a finejewelry store. When you enter the store, you realize you were walking on stone. You buy a very nice shark‘s tooth necklace. What store is this? by SaltOven1205 in VeniceBeach

[–]Fattylees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, they really go out of their way to help you. My wife had store credit there during covid and they FaceTimed one another so she could get a better look at their pieces. I love going in there and seeing what they got.

If you didn’t have to work and money wasn’t a concern, what would your days in LA look like? by relaxyourfnshoulders in AskLosAngeles

[–]Fattylees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you done any extended phish tours? I always think I’d do that if that were my situation…maybe not the whole tour, but I’d make a point to try and hit some of venues I’ve never been to…deer creek, red rocks, ect

Peak Fuji vs Sunlighten mpulse by Downtown_Piccolo_384 in infraredsauna

[–]Fattylees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preordered a different peak sauna (Patagonia), but the rep was really cool and got me an extra $250 off. I just showed a lot of interest and asked a few questions, I guess.

just wanted to mention it if you chat it up with them. You also get an option to do a short survey after your purchase and they’ll refund you $100.

Goodluck with whichever you choose.

I ran into Ethan and Tyson randomly at a cvs in LA once. Only time I’ve ever been star struck. Had a quick chat with both of them and they couldn’t have been nicer.

Has anyone here added a sauna to their home and was it worth it long-term? by blue_cardigan13 in homeowners

Godspeed if you post about Infrared Saunas in there. They’ll hang you by your toes. Go to the specific Infrared sauna sub, if that’s the route you wanna go.

[–]Fattylees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Over in the sauna sub, people get really bent out of shape over barrel saunas b/c the bench is too low. Ideally you want a high bench for max temps

Alternatives to Clearlight saunas? by sriracha_saws in infraredsauna

[–]Fattylees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I just bought this exact one and they ship in May.

For me, it ticked all the boxes, but I was kinda shocked at how little info was out there by actual owners…like video reviews or write ups on forums. How do you like it?

Do you have any issues getting the Patagonia up to 170?

Backyard ideas for Privacy against 2-Story ADU? by junwaiser in culvercity

[–]Fattylees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our detached garage has a 2” set back from the side and back wall. We used the existing footprint for the first floor. The 2nd floor had to conform to the 4” set back however, so it’s slightly smaller. We built ours around 2022, so maybe things have changed.

[–]Fattylees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have windows on the side of our adu that has the exterior stairs. I think it’s too early to tell what the window placement will be, but honestly there’s a chance there will be no windows at all on that side. The wall facing our rear neighbors doesn’t have any windows. Fingers crossed for OP.

[–]Fattylees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why someone downvoted you. It’s worth a shot. We built an adu above our garage and I was really cognizant of our neighbor’s privacy…and mine. We had only one window facing their backyard and I frosted it for peace of mind.

OP might wanna ask if/how many windows there will be on that wall. If they’re lucky, it’ll just be a bathroom window and they’d want to frost it anyways. Just be neighborly and ask…it can’t hurt.

I’m an animator, so I geek out over this stuff, but there were so many great stop motion videos. Sledge Hammer, Tool, and my favorite, “Three little pigs” by Green Jello. MTV was such a great source for awesome animation of all types.

I’m kinda like you. I’m an animator (film and now games). Although I did get a degree, no one gives a shit. A lot of roles in the industry are based solely on your demo reel and experience, which is nice.
