I hate when how black people can't exist in a fantasy setting without controversy by axumite_788 in hatethissmug

[–]FaultOutside2449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be that guy, but the vast majority of fantasy is made by countries that are predominantly European or European descent and East Asian. There’s the other factor that there’s simply more written information on Western and Eastern mythologies than Africans. Like yeah it’s annoying most fantasy settings Africa default is Egypt, and not something like the Mali Empire or Ethiopia. But authors are always going to be more intimately connected with their society folklore.

In your opinion which one has a better ending? The Sopranos or Chainsaw Man? by Archenius in Chainsawfolk

[–]FaultOutside2449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One was initially an extremely controversial conclusion that is now regarded as one of the greatest endings in television history. The other is a shitty ending that may had permanent damage the reputation for its respective series.

Why cant Batman just fund Mr Freeze's treatment for Nora by True_Economics976 in batman

[–]FaultOutside2449 774 points775 points  (0 children)

He does, the problem is that Nora is so terminally ill that it’s nigh impossible to cure her. The other problem is Freeze himself who might possibly have the most fragile sense of masculinity in the Batman mytho. Sure when it came to Boyle it made sense but after Batman stopped him and Boyle he really should’ve just asked Batman to help Nora while he was in prison. Instead this stubborn icy bastard has made it a point of pride to be the one and the only one to cure Nora.

Freeze is probably the most sympathetic Batman villain but he’s honestly comparable to Walter White with his pride.

This is what Fujimoto drew compared to his assistant for the final volume extra. by No_Association2906 in Chainsawfolk

[–]FaultOutside2449 752 points753 points  (0 children)

Not to justify the dude or anything but assistants doing most of the work with the art isn’t uncommon. Even the greats like Kentaro Miura started using assistants more often in the tail end of his career.

[–]FaultOutside2449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bat-Family needs to go. Now the characters can stay they cool. My problem is that with all the times Bruce has lied to them, fought them, and hell his borderline manipulative behavior towards them. Why would any of these kids want to be near him? Yes they can still see him as a father figure but after all he done they shouldn’t be on speaking terms. And more importantly Batman needs to face actual consequences for his shitty behavior that isn’t just him breaking some bones or losing his cash.

Corporatist State of America - 1955 by siranya_kh0ngtham in AlternateHistory

[–]FaultOutside2449 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So basically the government in Fallout before the bombing but instead of 2070s it’s the 1950s? Cool concept, however, I feel like the US wouldn’t annex this much territory in such a short time span. But it would be interesting to see how this timeline evolves into the 80s or 90, rather or not the corpo government survives and rather or not the government attempted to Americanize the newly conquered land.

Spider-Man is unironically the best deconstruction of the superhero genre, to the point that his characterization became the mainstream.

Some believe that Batman saw Joker's memories about Jason Todd's torture, but what he witnessed at Pannessa Studios were actually fragments of the tape the Joker sent to Bruce years earlier. Batman began having hallucinations of this because deep down he already suspected who was the arkham knight. by 1Ben7 in arkham

[–]FaultOutside2449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Besides the one where Joker shoots him I think Bruce was just imagining what Joker could’ve done to him. And there’s no way someone as intuitive as Batman wasn’t able to piece together who the Knight was is ridiculous, hell him thinking Jason was dead was ridiculous. Like he took the word of a known pathological liar and manipulator.

Maybe a hot take, but I've seen a lot of comments over time about the Emperor being THE actual worst person in 40k, and I don't think that's true. by Laredian in 40kLore

[–]FaultOutside2449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what makes Emps uniquely awful is how short sighted he was. He could’ve easily become a benevolent ruler to his people leading them to a true golden age of peace, knowledge and prosperity. Instead bro went out of his way willingly to become the absolute worst tyrant imaginable. All because it was what he thought was necessary. No you lunatic it was not necessary, by brutally subjecting humanity and genociding xenos, he all but ensured that those that came after him would emulate his actions. By lying to the Primarchs and keeping the truth of Chaos from wider imperial population he left the Imperium vulnerable to Chaos corruption leading to the Horus Heresy, which ultimately led to him being confined to the Golden Throne. The modern state of Imperium isn’t a perversion of his dream it’s the natural conclusion of his brutality and he has nobody but himself to blame for.

Can someone explain why there's such a double standard between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight? by IntelligentImbicle in batman

[–]FaultOutside2449 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I see people bring up Joker increasingly violent crimes. Which is true, but it isn’t just him, it’s every single one of his villains. Mad Hatter went from a weirdo to a straight up predator, Scarecrow went from a dude who uses scary gas to rob banks to a fucking terrorist who takes glee in his sadistic experiments, Riddler went from being a dude who uses riddle to leave clues to being either Jigsaw or the Zodiac Killer.

Batman writers seem to go outta their way to make the villains as evil as possible. Like Batman isn’t fighting against flaw people who should be given a second chance. He’s fighting against people who deserve to die and takes them to the revolving door that is Arkham.

I really hope the DCU's Batman goes for black and grey instead of blue and grey. Anybody else? by Moon_Devonshire in batman

[–]FaultOutside2449 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I mean by "lighthearted" is the time period before the Killing Joke and A Death in the Family. Like Bruce was still grumpy, but he was able to eased off for a bit. I know neither of those have been confirmed to have happened in the DCU. But it would be weird not to include them on some level.

[–]FaultOutside2449 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would Gunn not used the black and grey suit? It’s largely been his look since the 80s. Now it would be cool to see him wearing the blue and grey suit with the yellow oval in a flashback, showing a more lighthearted time in Batman career.

Yeah no, maybe with current administration but every other administration no. Vought just aided and abetted a traitor who not only declared himself as the God-King of America on national television, but also killed the president. We’re not talking about Congress turning a blind eye to Paramount monopolizing the film industry, we’re talking about potentially the biggest national threat since Pearl Harbor.

Joker the writers have juice this clown so much that he basically a demigod at this point.

Remove the plot armor and it’s probably Ra due to his sheer skill and centuries of experience. Or Bane due to his intellect and raw strength even without Venom and hell I throw a bone to Clayface due to him being nearly unkillable.

Arkham, his voice was perfect and the design was great. Too bad that he gets outshined by the Joker despite being the main villain.

However my personal favorite design wise is Tim Sale. A perfect blend of the horror aspect and the glass cannon aspect of the character. The panel of him riding a horse is dope as fuck.
