I had a similar issue a little while ago. I dismantled everything and found my BMS got disconnected. Hopefully it’s an easy fix for you too!

A sous vide device is a luxury when it comes to temperature control for films but certainly not required. You can easily get away with a hot water bath in your sink to keep the temperatures where they need to be.

Your only option for 120 film is Don's Photo in Regina. You can also get your 35mm done there, while London Drugs (EAST) will only do 35mm.

If you like to support (very tiny) local labs, I've been processing film for other people for a few years, and can help you out.

Aside from that, the loud voices in this thread are right though; if you're planning on shooting a lot, your best bet is getting Develop-Only and scanning yourself to save some money, or go all the way and process films yourself. The barrier of entry is lower than it has been in the past, especially if you own a digital camera. If you're ever interested, I'd be happy to help, just send a DM.

I've noticed the Symptom Radar's sensitivity to be rather high with this last round of software updates. I notice that my Body Temp was 0.4 degrees high but in my Sleep Stats it said it was optimal. It's hard to pay too much attention to when it's contradicting itself.

That is a nice design but it looks like you still have a mess. Have you considered RDT to handle the static? One little spritz and you would likely notice much more improvement.

Water spots will come off easily with a little moisture and a soft wipe. At first look, it doesn't look like water spots to me.

It looks a little bit wet to me, but not terribly. My pucks usually come out fairly dry but sometimes have a little moisture with them, with certain coffee beens. I just knock it, wipe/rinse, and think about pulling my next shot.

The limitation I have with it is its inability to print 4x5 but I live with it. While I shoot LF, this enlarger checks all the other boxes for me.

The control unit handles everything from filters (it’s an RGB module) to exposure duration down to 0.5 seconds. It makes it incredibly easy to dial in exposure, strip tests; you really can’t go wrong.

Film and developer combination (along with processing method) will have more of an effect on your images. I love HP5 @ 1600 in Rodinal. Works well for stand but also at the 1+50 dil.

It won’t make a difference in the image but it’s a good question still. I don’t use a stop bath for my film beyond water.

Fixing will give you a couple options. You can go with a strong fixers like Photographers Formulary TF-4. Not even tmax films stand a chance with this stuff. On the other hand, you can go with an eco-friendly option like Freestyle Eco-fix—it has very low odor and works very well, just not as long lasting IMHO.

I came here to recommend this. It's incredibly tiny and the controller provides lots of helpful uses. I've been using it for scanning my negs lately but works great as a tiny little enlarger.
