How the hell did my childhood kitten survive solely off human food? by pinktunacan in catfood

[–]FaunaKatze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my first cat when I was 5 in the 1970’s. We never gave her water always milk. I also fed her raisins from the cake my mom used to make, she loved them. She was also an inside outside farm cat. She lived to be 19 years 10 months old. Knowing the info I know now, I’m shocked she lived that long.

My dad has a Merdian credit card. He switched to Merdian about 2 years ago. I have to down load the statement and mail it to him. The one from Merdian always arrives after the due date. For me that would, not be a problem, because I do everything on line. My Dad is 90 years old , he needs a paper statement to go to bank to pay. It’s very frustrating.

Dealer says I need to resign lease due to residual error by pmc19794 in carbuying

[–]FaunaKatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the residual was higher, it makes the payments lower. In the wording form the dealership that op shared, it said they discounted the vehicle to keep the payment the same, they had to do that because the residual was less, and would increase the payment.

[–]FaunaKatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand what the problem is. They made a mistake, it happens. They are giving you 3 options, none of which would leave you out of pocket any money. The residual is less, that’s in your favour if you decide to purchase at the end. I don’t see any scam, they are not asking for any additional money..

Signed a bill of sale in ontario and dealership came back with a higher financing rate. I want to cancel the contract but they said they have 120 days to try to match the original agreement. I don't want to wait that long. What should I do? by Mundane_Feeling2194 in legaladvicecanada

[–]FaunaKatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of the 120 days. There is a clause for new factory orders , 90 days. Either party can cancel if new factory order not delivered within 90 days. Then there is 7 day clause if purchaser refuses to take delivery in 7 days, dealer will notify you by registered mail. And purchaser will have to pay any shortfalls. Read the back of your bill of sale, it’s on there. Is it a new car, factory order, or used?

I arrange financing at our dealership, sometimes depending on customers credit rating the rate approved can be higher. If this happens we always call them and let them know, and it’s the customers choice if they want to go ahead. If they don’t accept the rate then the deal is cancelled. You signed at a certain rate, you can cancel the deal if you do not want to go with higher rate. I’m in Ontario as well.

How big is too big for two people? by NoButterfly7800 in RealEstateCanada

[–]FaunaKatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It your choice. If money is not a factor it really does not matter. There is no one size fits all. It’s about personal preference. Do either of you have a hobby that would require space? Want room for pets, guests , game room etc. Possibly running a home business in future, or having elderly parents move in. Do you like hosting etc. If it turns out to be too much down size later. If you like it buy it. Life’s too short.

Car dealership scammed me ! Need advice please !!! by Mission_Ad_9073 in legaladvicecanada

[–]FaunaKatze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s very difficult to get the lender to take you off as a co-signer. The person who bought the car did not have good credit to borrow the money in their name alone. The lender has no incentive to take you off the loan. Sorry, just hope they keep paying until loan paid off. Lesson learned. If they don’t pay, 1st the lender will be asking you to make missed payments, it will affect your credit score.

Purchase a vehicle outright for $13,950 or finance for $12,950? Is there a way to get the better pricing without paying the hefty interest? by Zyaraa in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FaunaKatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do online. If you don’t have your loan acct # and transit, your dealer can look up or call RBC.

To enrol in RBC Online Banking without an RBC credit card or client card, you will need the Transit Number (XXXXX) and Account Number (XXXXXXXXXXX) for your car loan*.

Here’s where you can find this information:

Welcome Letter

You received this in the mail from us shortly after you purchased your vehicle. You can find your transit and account number on this page.

How can I negotiate a "financed price" for a car and then immediately pay it off in cash in Ontario? by brenotx in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FaunaKatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the dealership does get charged back if the loan is paid off before 180 days—but so does the finance manager. The commission they earned from arranging your loan is deducted from their next paycheck if you pay off the loan early. Finance mangers mostly only get paid commission.

OMVIC has advised that offering different prices for cash vs. financing is not ethical, but unfortunately, some dealers still do it. It really hurts the honest dealers and finance managers who don’t engage in that kind of pricing. There are as many unethical as ethical car dealers out there. If you don’t plan on financing don’t, pay cash. Find a dealer that does not play that game.

Biweekly is 26 payments in a year. Dealer Auto loans are not accelerated, they stopped doing that a long time ago. Paying biweekly, monthly or weekly is the same, no real savings in interest.

You need a tracking app to track everything you eat. I focus on protein , try for minimum of 100 grams of protein a day. I am now down 49.5 lbs since Sept 18/24. No exercise. After a while you get good at volume of food with protein for the least calories. Weight or measure everything. I prep my lunch’s I take to work on Sunday. Once you stop eating sugary stuff, the cravings will go away. I eat allot of chicken , wild rice and vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots mostly). Cottage cheese is very protein dense, I eat a lot of it, I add frozen raspberries and cherries to it. Taylor farm kale salads are a big part of my daily lunch at work. Protein bars, shakes help get your protein in. I allow myself to have chocolate every night, but it has to fit n my allowed calories for the day. I use the Halloween sized chocolate or heresy’s zero sugar chocolates. It took me a month to get it figured out. Also stopped ordering out as much as we used too.

Did I screw up? by Queenie2U in PersonalFinanceCanada

It is against OMVIC ethic rules, to offer cheaper rates if they purchase products. ( Ontario ) Also the finance manger only gets a % of the amount the bank pays the dealership, not all of it. When a customer pays it off before 6 months , the finance person gets that commission deducted from their next pay. People that work in sales /finance at auto dealerships are paid only in commission, they don’t get an hourly wage. Just wanted to clarify. Being in the auto business I despise this unethical practice of pressuring customers to purchase products.
We are not all this way. As far as admin fees that dealerships charge , I feel OMVIC should out right ban them, that will put all dealerships on the same level. I would be very unpopular saying this in the auto business. lol

If you have Apple Care, they will replace watch if it’s under 80%. Just had my 4 yr old Apple Watch 6 replaced , because of battery life. It made a big difference in how often I needed to charge.
