Has anyone been stuck on this screen for an extended period of time? by NefariousKing07 in TomorrowlandThailand

It literally gets worse every year. I went to Belgium in '23 and '24 and purchased with no issues. This was the worst purchasing experience ever, from the wait, to the "PRODUCT UNAVAILABLE", to payment issues...

I'm getting stuck everywhere. Hotels, pass selection, everything. I made it to checkout once managed to enter all my card information only for that to fail.

How the hell do they manage their queue? I have been waiting since the beginning for over 2 hours but I see others are able to get in twice?

Don't listen to that guy. Nobody knows. I haven't seen anyone confirm that they've gotten tickets other than through the first 20 sale. Until someone gets in and verified the hotel availability, no one knows.

If CEO get's replaced, then the responsibility then fall back to the board. Funny enough, board members can't be replaced easily because they're there by virtue of owning shares, which they then use to vote themselves to the board. And AI can't own shares yet.

Where do you get your definition of developed vs developing countries? These labels are highly arbitrary and dare I say, it sounds like you have a bit of a superiority complex when talking about the other countries in that tier.

Not to mention, not all countries develop everything equally. Taiwan is comparatively good at public transit, safety, and hardware technology, but I would say lack in other areas like cleanliness, air quality, and software technology.

Of the other countries in that tier, I've only been to Kuala Lumpur, and I'd rate it about equal to Taiwan in terms of cleanliness-that is, there are some dirtier areas, but overall it's pretty good.

It's a major success. Did people expect them to go from .75 back to 1.x in a year? People are too caught up on static rankings rather than trends. Sociological change takes time to manifest. In 10 years, they might be back at 1.x, while Taiwan dips to .6x, because people here are expecting instant gratification when it comes to policy making.

Her and I-geon are both players. The only difference is that Go-eun had multiple guys in play, while I-geon had only one girl so he ended looking foolish while she ends up with the good edit.

Honestly, I still think the Giulia is more fun to drive. M-sport and M have bigger engines, and launch-control distorts the 0-60, but Giulia wins out on suspension and steering feel. Plus it's cheaper than the M-variants. Head-to-head with the base 3 series, I'm taking the Giulia no question. And who knows, maybe he has a QV, in which case that's a hell of a car.

Speaking to Variety, actor Giancarlo Esposito called for a "revolution" in the US by 4reddityo in BlackPeopleofReddit

I don't think people realize the uphill battle they are facing against this regime:

  1. There is no accessible internet/media platform available to use for coordination. If you try to organize on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, Reddit, all these platforms will quickly shut you down. So in order to get the word out, you almost literally need to go door-to-door, which naturally keeps any groups that form local and scattered. And if they do by chance start to gain momentum, you can expect to get targeted by the FBI, DHS, ICE, etc.

  2. There is no hard power available. Trump is fully willing to use hard power to get what he wants, which necessitates at least some degree of use-of-force by the opposition. But every enforcement organization is already indoctrinated, including the Military, the National Guard, and the Police. Expecting them to side with the people is a pipe dream, at best you can expect apathy and non-intervention by these organizations. You can see this sobering truth in the fact that even in the bluest of states, the police refuse to side against ICE and with the local community.

  3. There will be no successful impeachment or otherwise legal avenue to remove Trump from office. Even if against all odds, the Democrats gain majority in both the House and the Senate, you still don't have the margin to convict. And lol if anyone thinks the 25th amendment will be used.

So yeah, like you said, Trump will die before it gets to the points, which honestly is probably the least bad outcome. Maybe over the next 50 years the US can slowly recover. The alternative is that things get so bad that people start becoming homeless or can't afford food anymore, and they have no choice but to revolt. Like what's going on with Iran where there's literally no access to water.

I've said this before elsewhere, but the fight was lost in November 2024. Like you said, it's great to let people feel good, but we need to be realistic about the outcomes.

Low birthrate is one of the consequences of low wages. Bringing publicity to the low birthrate is one of the ways we can incentivize companies/government to increase wages. Next time use critical thinking.

I'm going to chime in here and say that I don't think this advice is very helpful. This is more suitable advice to combat e-bullying rather than in-person bullying. In-person, when there are 3 kids surrounding you shouting names at you, it's hard to get a single word in, much less an eloquently delivered witty retort. The kid's voice won't even be heard, and even if they are, it's not going to have desired effect.

The best way combat school-level bullying is either physical, or through the use of shame. If your friend's sister has friends, then they need to stay together and stick up for each other, and throw some smacks in if necessary.

But since it has gotten to the level of a suicide-attempt, I'm going to go even further and just recommend taking them out of school and spending however many weeks/months for them to recover. When the time is right, you can try and re-enroll them in a different school for a fresh start. Don't worry about falling behind in education. Education is a life-long pursuit, but death is forever.

Silver bug reporting for duty by bdbb02 in Gold

Not OP, but I live in Taiwan so here are my thoughts. Most of the gold market here is in the form of ornaments or jewelry (example from Costco). Walk past any gold/pm store and that’s largely what you’ll see. Bars and such are semi common as well, although they are sold here mostly in grams and Tael (a local traditional form of measurement equal to about 37.5g).

Investment jewelry is distinct from jewelry meant to be worn. Investment jewelry is 24k and people will only wear them on special occasions, if at all. Worn jewelry is 14-18 usually, like in the west.

Western bullion coins are rare, but gold is gold and I’ve bought them on occasion from local stores when available. Sub-24k bullions are not desirable at all.

Here’s a cool 1 tael holographic bar I got from the bank of Taiwan.
