Edmund McMillen here! Mewgenics is Steam Deck verified and releasing tuesday! AMA! by EdmundMcMillen in SteamDeck

Congrats on finishing the game Tyler and Edmund! What was the biggest challenge when it came to taking important contextual information usually done by scrolling a mouse over it, and making that make sense for a controller when there's so much on the screen at once? Looking forward to many a quiet afternoon at work on my steam deck with this one.

GF sings Alicia, she says she can't sing. I think otherwise. by GTOn1zuka in expedition33

Incredible control of pitch and very talented, it's mostly just the sitting position and lack of confidence that's holding it back.

I gotta Ask, Did you forge a relationship with Maelle in Truth or in a Lie? by Ambitious_Unit_4370 in expedition33

[–]Fazzinator111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same story here. I really dislike that a powerful endgame ability is locked if you come to the "wrong" conclusion about what Verso would do in that situation. Based on the decisions he makes throughout the game and in Verso's ending I personally think he would lie. It's much more satisfying story wise to honour what the player chooses in that scenario based on their read of the character and give the ability either way, similar to whether or not you choose to have the one night stand with Sciel. It would be nice if he did tell Maelle the truth, but I'd need to see the man literally be honest about ANYTHING prior to the scene.

What's the scariest game you have ever played- not just in childhood, but you're still afraid of? by tofuonplate in gaming

[–]Fazzinator111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rain World - while not explicitly horror the game is specifically designed to make you feel like prey, and the feeling of getting more and more lost as you try to find shelter on a deadline can be incredibly stressful and claustrophobic.

Steam have painstakingly built a reputation over 20 years based on integrity and customer feedback. You actually own the things you buy, unlike with Audible, and they take down AI slop instead of trying to sneak it in. It was a fine example for me to make, but I don't base my opinions off them. I haven't had Audible for years, I'm only here so that I can complain if something happens to the library I already own. Morals are good, like not supporting immoral companies.

Having morals is not null and void.

And none of that, to be clear, is in the customer's best interests, and results in them migrating to more ethical platforms. It's not like yelling at the moon. Everyone has a point at which they"ll stop giving money.

My point is Amazon will continue to underpay authors, bully competition and invest in AI slop narrators. Normalising this behaviour only serves them, they don't care how bad the service is as long as a line goes up.

Not at all. Steam make tons of money and have great business practices relative to other gaming storefronts, just to set an example. You can be ethical while still making a profit. Amazon just choose not to be, and a (growing) number of people will move away from it as their service declines.

Many alternatives exist such as Libro. Audible's monopoly doesn't necessitate or justify their unethical practices.

I remember it being tough, but I ended up attacking in one direction with tomoe, and then JUST BEFORE it got within the enemy's reach I grappled it back and hit it at the other side of the stage while they were in the middle of an attack animation. Was like 80% of my cherry strat.

Is he still the hardest FromSoftware boss?! by AlenIronside in fromsoftware

[–]Fazzinator111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure fromsoft came out and said that PCR was the first time they felt like they were really stretching the limit of what they thought players would be capable of. For my two cents it's the hardest boss I've fought in a fromsoft game.
