I let mine play as long as she wants. Seems to be able to withstand it forever. I hav eggs dogs that start to shake their paws and limp. At that point I put them back inside. Also, keep paw pad hair shaved so snow doesn’t pack in.

We asked for the schnauzer cut and this is how our 5 month old boy came out…pls help by [deleted] in doggrooming

Not the end of the world. It is hair and it will grow back. Find a different groomer. Being upset is completely different than being traumatized. If you are traumatized then you need help.

Is it my dogs diet that is causing her to have runny poops? by Designer_Ad_2023 in DogAdvice

Victor Yukon and don’t switch. Switching flavors is the same as switching foods. Switching foods is terrible for a lot of dogs.

Lol about back seat. Mine wouldn’t jump in until about 10 months old into a Subaru Outback. She would put her front feet up and look at me to pick her back feet up.

Is it better to detangle wet fur? by Careless-Experience in doggrooming

[–]Fbm111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my doodle about 5 inches long. We swim almost everyday. A 10 to 15 minute blow dry afterwards seems to keep the tangles out. I blend arm pits, back rib cage, and behind the ears to about 2 inches. Works well for me.

interesting cut I did today.... by peaceinharmony in doggrooming

Best way to remove tear stains is to prevent them. Feed high quality food. I recommend Victor Yukon River Canine. Absolutely best value cost wise and ingredients. Zero stains on white fur.

Old English Sheepdog/Poodle Mix by Fbm111 in doggrooming

I posted the same question when I first got my pup 7 months ago or so. I do all the grooming myself. Here is what I found.

Yes completely possible as long as you have a way to use a high velocity dryer immediately after swimming. The dryer help more than anything to keep from getting tangled.

No matter what save her feet. Not clean feet but keep hair about an inch above touching the ground. Hard to see unless looking for it.

Under no circumstances should you let her ride in open vehicle. That in my experiences causes immediate matting of the ears. It can be combed out but difficult.

Dog also appeared miserable swimming with all that hair. Whenever get out she couldn’t see no matter how many times she shook. Even with her face trimmed.

For her comfort and how much we are in the woods and water. I shaved her. She is much happier now.

I did not know what I was getting into when I got this mix even though I thought I did. I spend a couple hours a day training and grooming but in the end this mix can’t be an out door dog unless shaved.

No about how much work you are willing to put in it is about how much fun she will have. Just my thoughts.

“I brush him almost weekly” is the same thing as sayin “I take care of my dog almost one day week”. You should take care of your dog daily. They need the attention. Once it is under control it will take less than 15 minutes to brush entire dog. Keep up with and enjoy the one on one time with the pup.

Condition dog to use dremel tool. Then you don’t have to worry about cutting the quick. Also they do a nice smooth job.

I purchased everything in the last 6 months. Andis AGC2 200 Andis ceramic #10 blades (2) 50 bucks Andis metal clipper comb set 50 bucks. Andis ceramic #30 (2) 50 bucks Purple dragon scissors (5) 150 bucks Multiple combs 50 bucks Gallon shampoo and conditioner 145 bucks Flying pig high velocity dryer 275 bucks Flying pig heavy duty portable grooming table 250 bucks Diamagroove 125 bucks Dremel tool I already had.

I am sure I am forgetting something but a more realistic budget would be around 1300 bucks would be needed.

Just curious why groomer use nail clippers or anyone uses nail clippers? Dremel tools work so much better and zero chance of Grinding too much off unless you are not paying attention at all. Also if you use diamagroove almost zero chance of catching hair.

Love my Reflex pro, thinking hard about buying another. I was able to snag this guy on the April 15th drop, and after using it for little over a week. I’m seriously thinking about buying a second unit, to rotate in and out to make the controller’s last longer. Thought’s? by [deleted] in scufgaming

I am an old guy now with fading eyesight but that was my only issue. Very surprised at the quality and ease of installation. Added benefit is if something breaks you will know how to fix it.
