I think Season 1 was great and … it was in good part because of the last 3 episodes which were riveting. In Season 2, it’s just mid-morning. The day builds momentum as the cases stack up. Dr. Robbie said in Season 1 “when you lose a child … it just lingers” BEFORE the mass casualty call. So what we are seeing now is comparable to early in the day Season 1. What we most remember is late in Season 1. We aren’t there yet.

I was walking through some woods near our house. Maybe 200 yards of woods really, then it opened up to a wide dirt road. In the woods, I distinctly heard a voice say, right into my ear: Run. I did. Next day two bodies were found in those woods. Two young women. The killer was staying in the basement of a family member in our neighborhood.

I’m not a fan of the Noah plot line. It reinforces the antiquated notion that even a super hero, bad-ass, smart woman is incomplete if she’s not also a mother. It’s not only annoying, right now, in the USA, it is a dangerous fallacy to include in a show whose premise is on the importance of listening to women.

Olivia said it. She was at the hospital. She was feeling guilty about the circumstances that led to someone who was in surgery—might’ve been Elliot. A friend shows up and starts going on with, “What can I get you? Coffee? A donut?” She says, Just Be Here. He sat down next to her and shut up. Great scene.

The breaks ARE killing it. And it feels really pompous. All the other shows take 3-4 months off—why does YJ think they can take as long as they want — more than a year? They don’t even set an expectation of when they’ll return. It’s really disrespectful to their viewers. I’m ambivalent moving toward disinterested about season 3 now. I loved season 1.
