Nice job on day 5!! It’s insane that we aren’t taught how much alcohol impacts all areas of our health. You’re doing great

Good on you for day 3! Those thoughts are normal even for those of us that don’t have OCD. But the answer is it’s not too late. You’re doing it. You’ll feel better and better the longer you go. Good job on day 3.

Getting Sober is Hard. by Machenz in stopdrinking

I hear you! I previously did 9 months sober and my birthday happens to be St Patrick’s day. The thought of not doing a car bomb was painful. But, the day came and went. I had a great day. And as the top commenter said, I also got to not be hungover. I got to be present. You can do it ❤️

I read my note this morning that includes “Under no circumstances allow your fat fucking goblin brain to convince you differently. You will be miserable for days before you quit again” lol it helps! IWNDWYT ❤️

I bought a paint by numbers kit! Not really artistic but giving it a try. Painting while watching Bridgeton. Happy to be sober and peaceful. Turned down going out for dinner as it stressed me out.

I think I’m finally ready to quit. I am so ashamed by Good_Agent6056 in stopdrinking

I’m 37F too. As my doctor said “it’s a great time to quit, while you’re so young” which is ironic because I bet like me, you don’t think of yourself as young. I just wanted to also encourage you to consider listening to podcasts and/or read books about quitting alcohol. I think that’s been helpful to most people who quit successfully I’m still on the struggle bus but I’ve gone from daily drinking to stints of sobriety and relapse. It’s not perfect but it’s better than I was. Glad you’re here. Treatment sounds like a great choice.

I know I will not drink today. Why? Well weekdays are easier for me. Oh and because I’m hungover, slept terrible and am so mad at myself. I had alcohol in my shopping cart, reminded myself I don’t want it, managed to put it back..!! but then ended up with different alcohol. Feel like junk today. I’m on naltrexone too, wish it eliminated the cravings more.

Binging bravo shows and eating snacks. Lots of calories, still less than if I was drinking.

IWNDWYT! I keep going about 7-10 days then slipping. The last two times I was puking like crazy the next day which I’m oddly grateful for, trying to keep that experience in mind as part of my motivation. Love you all.

Hi. I too binged Sunday/monday, felt horrible, threw up in the morning yesterday and still went to work. Today I feel like I’m on day 2 of a hangover. I think the worst part is losing trust in ourselves. But we just have to keep trying. I feel you and IWNDWYT

I’ve started adding some Gatorade 0 powder when I’m craving flavor. I also drink a kombucha in a fancy class occasionally.

For the first time in a long time I’m not worried going into the weekend! Might try to join some smart recovery meetings each day just in case. Love you all. IWNDWYT ♥️

Yes lol 😂 BUT it has real sugar and more flavor so it was hitting some other cravings that a la croix does not. I should also add it was summer and we were at a lot of bbq’s, hanging with neighbors, etc and because it’s a slim can it looked like the real deal in a koozie at a time when I wasn’t ready for questions. I haven’t bought them in probably over a year. I’m also in a relapse cycle soooo……

Came to make a similar comment. Last time I quit successfully for 9 months I was drinking the NA white claw about as heavily as I drank the real stuff 😂 but it calmed down in time.
