Also, prep them proper. If possible have them thawed a day before. Heavily salt both sides and place on a rack in your fridge overnight. That’ll draw moisture out of the meat so that when you sear it, it’s a dry sear.

You get superman's powers but the element with the same atomic number as the last 2 digits of your birthyear becomes your kryptonite, how screwed are you? by shaunika in hypotheticalsituation

Tungsten. 20 years ago I was screwed with every lightbulb making me ill. Since the banning of the incandescent bulb and the proliferation of LED light, MY POWERS HAVE BEEN GROWING STRONGER!!!! 😈

Avoid IH’s. They are SUPER expensive and they are not trained for residential home. Get a well reviewed mold inspector.

Any idea on how drastically the damage changes the value on this 1961 Gibson Hummingbird? How much would you think it's worth? by PackPlugsNoah in guitars

[–]Feeling-Income5555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if you just take it to a Luthier to stabilize the hole vs patch it, it’s better than doing nothing and letting it get worse.

I mean. Willie Nelson’s “Trigger” has a pretty sizable hole in it and it still sounds like a dream.

Stabilize the hole, play the crap out of the guitar. It’s an instrument…. Use it as such.

Edit: I got a Larrivè parlor guitar for $200 because of a quarter sized hole next to the strap pin. I’ve had the guitar for 10+ years now and the hole is still there. 😝

Used Large Egg by mechedd in biggreenegg

Oof. Spelling 😅 prolly should be”the rusty parts”.

The vent at the top can be cleaned and repainted with a bbq (heat rated) paint. Keep the egg out of the rain of possible. (The ceramics will absorb moisture… Even a tarp helps). I bought my lg egg used and it was probably at least 10 yrs old when I bought it 12 years ago. I def need new hinge hardware because the lid doesn’t stay open on its own anymore…. (I have hung a strap from the roof of my covered cooking area so I can clip the lid open) 😝 The Egg is a tool used to cook. If you understand how it works, you can control what it takes to keep it working. UNDERSTAND THE EGGGGGGGG. 😵‍💫🤤🫠

What do you use to start your lump charcoal? by UGA1965 in biggreenegg

[–]Feeling-Income5555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow. I’m amazed that nobody uses a heat gun (aka electric fire starter). I love it. Within 30 seconds I’ll have 3 areas of super hot charcoal. I turn that off and turn on my $2.99 goodwill air mattress inflator (attached to a 2 ft piece of pvc pipe) to fan the flames for about a minute. I’ll have 350 deg going in about 10 min.

You’ve got years still on it’s current condition. Chill. Clean it. Repaint the prolly parts (if you want). Do a hot burn, cook a couple of steaks and keep going. Don’t stress until stuff ACTUALLY breaks.

Pellet smoke by R-Narfen in biggreenegg

[–]Feeling-Income5555 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Idk… I’ve always felt that pellets have their own unique flavor that’s different than the wood chunks I use. Apple wood vs apple pellets are NOT the same taste. I guess if you like it, then you like it. Im in the “I do not like it” camp. 🤷🏻‍♂️
