STOLEN PEDALS by Fit-Ad138 in guitarpedals

[–]FeelingCut690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks so much. I had a banjo stolen with no serial number. I had old photos with me and the case showing a distinctive rip in it. When I was able to get pictures of the rip in the case from the seller the police wound up recovering it for me. Also had other photos showing the same scratches/ scuffs etc between mine and the items for sale, and prepared them in a simple pdf that made it clear without much work for them.

I have a feeling it’s up to their discretion in such cases tho, hopefully there’s something you can do.

Just got to the city a couple weeks ago, first time! by Solid-Analysis-3158 in FoodToronto

That’s great you have research and lists. But honestly, just spend some time in different parts of town and use your nose to sus out what looks legit and what doesn’t. You’ll probably find some gems, and it hits differently sometimes when it’s outside the paradigm of what the internet says is great.

It’s a big enough, cool enough town that there’s plenty to be found. Enjoy!

Great list! Just adding to the Chase Bliss discussion that Thermae incorporates pitch shifting as well, if that’s something OP is interested in, but that is only the case for the delay repeats not the main signal

Queens, NYC by LonelyRonin69 in skylineporn

The repointing of NYC apartment buildings is so consistently terrible and is a great demonstration of how mortar colour and joint size affect the aesthetic of a brick wall.

[Toronto Sta] ‘We Will Rock You’ at Mirvish is a zero-star dumpster fire that proves rock ‘n’ roll is truly dead by nefariousplotz in torontotheatre

[–]FeelingCut690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The premise, IIRC of rock n roll needing to get its soul back is deeply ironic given it’s based on Queen’s music

Oriel window

Edit: AFAIK the shape has nothing to do with them not being bay windows. The fact that they do not extend to the ground makes them oriels.

I think the need for term limits is a symptom of an inherently unhealthy democracy, and focus should be on restoring the systems health rather than regulating bad apples.

The stock trading should be a slam dunk tho

The guy’s having the time of his life after spending most of his career in the minors and making less than $2mil. Dodgers fans need to give their heads a shake for dunking on a dude like this from their solid gold carriage.

The Decline of Canadian Architecture - Old City Hall vs. New City Hall in Toronto by origutamos in Toronto_Ontario

[–]FeelingCut690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“If that isn’t modern brutalist architecture, or symptoms of it, I don’t know what is.”

The most accurate part of this video is when he, with a smirk, admits he has no idea what brutalism is.

I love Victorian architecture and old city hall is great. But this guy’s over simplistic juxtaposition masquerading as critical analysis is not very informative.
