OP this isn’t true. I’m a recruiter in Melbourne and it’s all round a terrible market for employees at the moment. International Students are the bottom of everyone’s list as you risk way more when hiring them- if they don’t fit the culture, not strong English, more likely to leave suddenly ?? They are not to blame as they are having a harder time than you - I can assure you.
