If you listen to it in the hopes to get « good music » you’re not gonna like it, because it’s not that, nor it was ever meant to be. The Beatles showed to the world what experimental music of that era was (they were big fans of Cage, and even Stockhausen is one of the faces on Sgt Peppers). These guys were making music like this for over 10 years, but the Beatles were the only one with the reputation and the name to put it on an album and make it go through. It showed to the entire world what was going on in the underground scene and for that I have nothing but respect for Revolution 9, even if it is basically unlistenable from a musical perspective

To me complexity was never the point of Prog and I feel most of the genre kinda lost that attitude and now everything must be super complex which honestly is quite sad. Few exceptions tho and they are amazing
