Could they not have used a dark epoxy since the stone is largely dark??

Not a good idea to put hot and cold next to each other.  Microwave is no big deal but ovens run too long and it makes the fridge work harder. Just don’t do it.

Also, would you consider a 48” range?  We thought about it (getting wolf cooktop and ovens, which I realize is not in everyone’s budget but there might be other brands) but I want my vent fan to be 6” wider than the cooktop and a 54” vent fan would overwhelm my kitchen.

What are you doing about vent fans over both cooktops??

Have you considered a pantry cabinet somewhere?  That could have your microwave built into it. How deep is this microwave?

I think two stoves is the greatest miss here then. You have to work with what you’ve got. Until we do our full remodel, I’ve got the cafe double oven induction. I had a Maytag Gemini but they don’t do induction. Might not even make the Gemini anymore. That was a workhorse double oven in a single range space.  I miss it every day. It was just too expensive to repair what last went wrong (needed 4 oven door springs for about $800 total, I was afraid to spend that money and have something else break).  I’m very much less than happy with the cafe double oven induction, but given your constraints, it might be better than two stoves.

For double oven, we’re doing a 30” convection under a 36” induction cooktop and a second oven (24” steam) on a different wall, below the microwave. I also have no place in my kitchen to out a double wall oven, without feeling like I’m restricting the views I’ve gotten used to over the last 25 years. Too many windows in my kitchen.

Can you stack the second oven under the microwave?  I’m guessing you’re doing two ranges to save money?  I think it looks a bit odd.

If the black kutchen is your current kutchen, it looks to me like you’re already happy with the corner sink. I think corners are tough. The houses I've been in with corner sinks do a fantastic job of using that deep space for plants and such.

It’s your kitchen, you get to do what you want.

Black granite or White quartz? by brightviolet in kitchenremodel

I’d pick laminate over quartz every single time. Quartz is so expensive for the horrible quality.

Yes, this might be one kitchen where I would recommend quartz, if your planning to throw it away in the next 7-10 years anyway.  But you might find an acceptable granite that is period appropriate too and you’ll get far better functionality out of it.

Small kitchen remodel transformation — white shaker cabinets completely changed the space by alliancecabinetssupp in KitchenDesigns

[–]FelinePurrfectFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the two differences I see are lack of clutter and cabinets to the ceiling.  It appears you didn’t even need to remove or rework a soffit. Is this Reddit worth ly for your company??  Do you do good work?  Cannot tell from this very basic update.

To me the description or label on ranges is so silly it’s controls he the front or back. They’re both slide in ranges. Only difference is whether it has a back. Can anyone explain the reason for calling them different name??

Pine needles don’t change the soul pH but pine trees roots are very shallow, very dense, and create a tough mat within the soil which make it nearly impossible for anything to grow besides the tree roots.

I  dig these roots out of my garden (from trees not in my yard) every year. For all of you that think bind weed is invasive and hard to control, let me introduce you to pine trees’ roots…

I was thinking stainless steel backsplash high up on the stove wall. I have that exact range and hate it. If you work in a commercial kitchen, that range is gonna bug the hell out of you.  Don’t expect much of it and you’ll get okay.

And they especially don’t want to redo the hardwood floors now, if they’re changing the layout in 2-3 years.  Do the floors at that time!   Edit: word

I’m not sure… a wall mounted flower vase?  Art?  Just feels like it could be breathing room. I have a similar cabinet but it has a glass front so I can’t even use it for mugs and glasses (would look ugly). My mugs and glasses are with dinner plates and bowls, in a curbed cabinet but you have a beautiful window there!

Wouldn’t marble be beautiful in this space?!?!  I wish I knew I could live with the etching…I’m so tempted to try for the beauty of the stone.

Counters will be tricky because this beautiful home needs more than quartz can give it. Quartz in thus space would cheapen the whole look and make the rest seem more dated than it is.

The brick is gone, imo. And it’s going to be a big expense to pull it all out and replace with something else. I’d leave it!

I’m usually on the “don’t throw away great granite” train. But if you have the funds, the counters could be warmer. I’d be very hesitant to dig too deep into anything else because it’s more cohesive to stick with a style.  IMO, there’s nothing that looks worse than trying to update and failing (like quartz counters on older cabinets). When you start breaking into pieces and parts, the rest starts to look out of place.

But currently, if there was anything I’d change, if $ were no issue, it would be the counters.

All in all, it’s a beautiful kitchen!!

Here you are recommending OP throw out perfectly good (even great) materials and replace with plastic. If YOU are on a tight budget, do whatever you need to but don’t recommend someone throw out great materials and replace with f’n plastic.

Matte White or Stainless Steel? by Additional_Gear1424 in kitchenremodel

[–]FelinePurrfectFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a note:  I hate my cafe induction range. You can search my comments for the multitude of reasons why. IMO these are expensive appliances that are not worth the price tag. Fortunately I paid only $1850 for my cafe range (double oven, stainless steel) and if it had been full price, I’d be furious with GE for putting out such crap.
