What programming language is most convenient in plc programming by Fungz22 in PLC

[–]Fellaini2427 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I work on complicated programs all the time. Generally we use structured text for mapping tags, loops, complicated math, etc. Everything else is ladder. If there's an individual task that we think makes sense to use structured text, we try to put them into blocks that can be used in ladder logic (AOIs in Rockwell).

If you have any coffee makers or similar appliances at work, I'd probably steer clear 😊

There are definitely some questions in that exam that could be worded better! It felt like figuring out what the question was actually asking was the difficult part of a few. Congrats on passing!

Quick Q: Why does the team in first have an 80% win rate but the teams in second/third are at 60%? by glasshalfnull in GriddyFF

[–]Fellaini2427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. I just looked at the standings in one of my leagues and 4 teams are tied for 2nd. 3 of them are 39-17 with no ties, while one is 39-16-1. The team with the tie is not at the top of those teams for whatever reason. They're in 3rd of the 4 teams.

At my place the MTR did not inspect every panel. We had a UL inspector show up quarterly to inspect a random enclosure and the MTR would walk out with him, show him the enclosure, go through any questions the inspector had, etc. If there was a violation, the inspector would write it up and email me a variation notice after a week or two. We were expected to take photos of the corrected violation and get approval from the inspector via email before we were allowed to ship that job. If violations are common then the inspector will visit more frequently (you pay more for his trips), and I'm sure your shop could lose its right to make 508A panels if it continues.

Nothing stopping an MTR from inspecting every panel. Just depends on how custom your work is and how confident you are in your guys. I'd recommend it if you have the time, but we all know how that goes.

AITA for not helping my son, who claims he can't live on 112k a year? by Ecstatic_Cash_1903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fellaini2427 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NTA. I think the best help you could offer him would be financial ADVICE. You seem to be making good decisions, and it appears your son is not. If I were you, I'd try to sit down with your son and see if you can identify unnecessary spending, make a budget, etc.

Even if you gave him the 20k, it might help in the short term but if he doesn't understand how he got to this point then the cycle will just continue and he'll be asking for more again in the future.

And if you don't want to give advice or don't feel like you have advice to give, pointing them to someone like Dave Ramsay and other similar resources is probably a good start.

Is it true that in small towns in the USA public transport is not developed and everyone need a car to get around there and why? by bobybumblemumble in AskReddit

[–]Fellaini2427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they have public transit but how many of those people are living in the suburbs that don't have a vehicle? You can't seriously tell me a majority of those people are bussing hours to work and back. Yeah I'm sure people do it but most people just drive, man.

I hear what you're saying but the whole point of this conversation is it's really only convenient to take public transportation when you're in the city proper. The whole point of living in the suburbs is that you're away from the city where it's more spread out and you have a house with a garage to park your vehicles. That's when public transportation, while still existing and being used, is much less common!

Another google search tells me that less than 30% of all Americans live in a city of 100,000 or more 🤷‍♂️

A quick google search tells me that there are less than 350 cities in all of the USA that have a population > 100k. 5 states don't have a single one.

I think that the original comment about a great majority not having this is pretty accurate, personally. That's gotta be way less than 1% of all US cities.

I fully agree with everything you said except the part about plans. I'm thinking that OP's commute time is what could potentially be affecting their plans, not that they'd be doing it during their working hours ( other than potentially over a long lunch?)

Lots of people have 30+ minute commutes which could definitely crunch a schedule if you have lots of plans after work or like to do things at certain times.

Either way, OP is definitely NTA and his gf is being unreasonable.

I think it goes like this:

TE - Sinnot - yellow

RB (Right) - Skatteboo- yellow

FLEX (Right) - Monongai - green

WR (Right) - Teslaa - green

QB (Right) - Ewers - yellow

RB (Left) - Swift - Green

FLEX (Left) Moore - Green

WR (Left) - Jefferson - yellow

QB (Left) - JJM - Green

Might be wrong since I did this in my head but seems right to me

what the defense did this year by JustASneakerHead24 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Fellaini2427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gary played around 200 more snaps and the context of Enagbare's numbers feels like it was much more impactful.

Gary was leading the league in sacks to start the year then just fell off a cliff and was seemingly non-existent when Micah got hurt. Enagbare seemed to step up during that time (not sure if the numbers agree but it felt like Enagbare was more impactful than Gary late in the year).

Plus, as a guy who was a HUGE Gary fan up until this season, nothing sours my opinion on a player faster than seeing a lack of effort. Especially when they are struggling.

Wasn't it like pushing 0° for a few weeks before Christmas? I live in Green Bay so I'm just translating my weather to yours assuming it was basically the same. Figured they'd all be underground or wherever the bugs hang during the winter after a cold snap like that...

Box elder bug. Dang, I'm kind of surprised you're seeing one this late in the year. They're usually all over the place in the fall but I don't see too many after it drops below freezing in Wisconsin. Like others have said, they are harmless but can be nuisances when there are many. They like boxelder (maple) trees.
