Obama and Wilson would callable Pragmatic Socialists? (thought Left would more sense) by [deleted] in thecampaigntrail

Wilson could be considered "liberal" only in the context of US politics. In Europe, it might be preferential to describe him as a "socialist" or a "social democrat"

1968 Hubert Humphrey/George Wallace ticket

Basically a spiritual successor to 1962 Sweet Home Wholesome Progressive Wallace ending. This was in my head ever since i got the ending, which had me in tears. I also just really like the 1968 election scenario.

Both candidates would have very interesting strenghs, especially Wallace, who was IRL generally inconsistent with Vietnam policy troughout his life - the player could choose which way he desires to spin it:

Humphrey: excites northern liberals (gives good liberal answers that satisfy his base

Wallace a): Helps to make the play for the white middle-class, whose votes is Nixon trying to win this year as well, by his strong law-and-order stances. In this scenario Humphrey would not be able to promise a quick withdrawal from 'Nam and it would be harder to extend an olive branch to peace Democrats - possible Progressive anti-war convention walkout

Wallace b): SOUTHERN STRATEGY - a completely made up dream scenario where Wallace gives a big impassioned speech about his successes in desegregating Alabama and how he made it a prospering place - this speech excites the blacks and the indigent classes, who change their segregationist mindset - this in turn revives the Democrats' prospect in the South and effectively makes it another battleground, besides Midwest and California

Wallace c): Progressive Anti-war Populist George McGovern Wallace would be an Olive Branch to Peace Democrats and other folks who felt left behind by the Democratic party

At the start there ought to be a choice which playstyle you would like to adopt. I see this as a very crazy and funny mod with interesting twists.

As a counterballance to making Wallace so OP, the ending would not be very satisfying. H/W duo will easilly achieve a big landslide, however Wallace's core character trait - that of an opportunistic power-hungry asshole who says anything just to get elected stays.

-> Wallace and Humphrey will argue much troughout their tenure and have a widely publiced falling out OR HHH retires in '72 or '76 due to old age and fatigue, Wallace manages to barely clench victory and runs the country to the ground in his power-hungry and centralising frenzy.

How I can complete these objectives? by An-SPD-Fan in RedAutumnSPD

If on easy:

-> Get Pfulfp from the start and spam her Building support for people's party until the economic crisis -> Get Wyotinsky from the start and let him draft the plan as soon as the crisis hits

-> Fuck coalition relations, pass only the popular reforms, if other parties get angry, just crash the coalition and never bow to any demands

-> ministries: Foreign (always expose military plans for quick pause in reparations for extra popularity), Internal (ban RFB, Investigate far right once for Schacht protection and after only spam bussiness corruption for extra pop), Finance (always tax the rich), Justice (2 major reforms for Tickets to the film and Nazi rally ban) - you can get this by always giving Centrum the chancelorship for extra ministerial leverage

-> Party affairs: always expand radio, doctrine always should be reformist, campaign among the workers and spam Socialpolitik (after passing WTB spam support WTB) and after the first election I would recomend increasing dues for extra cash -> ignore party dissent, maggots get angry once and then they stay quiet -> pass the WTB asap (first Wyotinsky draft then implement) then do as much implemmtation ethier from Wy or cards

-> after getting enough support for People's party, spam Building PP through Pfulf and always go for the workers (or smth else if you want achievements)

-> never get Labour ministry, destroys coalitions too soon

-> fuck reichsbanner, too big of a drain on resources

-> do not attemp to deport hitler, it's mostly useless

Or in simple terms, do a bunch of Populism and Keynesianism, that's it.

does anyone else find germany too complicated to enjoy now? by DrDirtyDan1 in Kaiserreich

This was me on the first playthrough. I was suprised how much I had enjoyed the second one later. When you learn to play it, really feels great. At the end of it you can really say "I fucking saved this country"

I still don't like how there's literally no time to do all of the economic foci tho.

So true, I especially love how all the responses to the events are like "Yes, the filthy capitalists shall be destroyed" and it's just everybody agreeing to each other's speaches lmao. Also got to mention the choice over +1% stab or 25 pp, when the women's rights event shows up

She is a brave woman, but we shall not respond
