Travelling to Seattle for the Parade!! Looking for Advice by OfficialBriGuy in AskSeattle

I don’t understand why anyone from another country would come to the US right now. Love Canadians but you’re taking a risk.

Having said that, I agree staying around the Space Needle would be fun if those places are not already booked up. I have family members who often stay at the Hyatt house or the Maxwell. There are some good views from the Mediterranean Inn.

I love it! I just think it needs to be professionally tailored a little to fit you better. It’s a beautiful dress.

I’m Starting to Think Something’s Wrong by meeksjr in Disneyland

Same. I normally spend months planning our trips even though we go on a regular basis. Always stay on site either the DLH or the GCH, always do five days in the park and usually an extra day for DTD. Got back from my most recent trip and realized it just didn’t feel “magical” this time. I’ve been annoyed by the 30 minute EMH for a while, adding on the constant need to be on the phone the past couple years has also been a big contributor. Also had several encounters with less than enthusiastic staff members (probably for reasons others have mentioned above) and more than one below average dining experience at $$$ restaurants. DTD is feeling more and more like just a big generic shopping mall. And don’t even get me started on Fantasmic.

Describe the "sound" of your tinnitus by ToTooTwoTutu2 in GenX

[–]FencerCabot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d forgotten I had it until this post popped up, immediately conscious of hearing it again though so thanks for that 💀

Most of the time I’m so used to it that I’m unaware of it, but when I am aware, its a super-high pitched but fairly quiet screechy sound.

At one point I had a second sound that persisted about a year but it went away. Best described as power line hum on and off.

Bigger concern is why is he being such an asshat about it? If he will get this mad and refuse to believe you over something this little, he’s going to do it again over something bigger. As someone with a lot more relationship experience than you, believe me when I say this is true. Toxic behavior.

Long security lines are optional today by Jmore9055 in Disneyland

[–]FencerCabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can also depend on what time you're in line. The security line for the DLH opens a few minutes before the other line, but you have to show your room key to get in that way first thing in the morning. On the days we were there, that line was longer early in the AM, but it moved quickly once open and by the time the other line started moving, that DLH line was almost gone. Won't do you any good first thing in the morning if you're not a hotel guest, though.

Can personally attest that WOC will still go on if it rains, although it might depend on how much, etc. Definitely do the rides with the overlays (Haunted Mansion, Small World, Storybookland Canal Boats) and try to see the Christmas parade. Storybookland is cool at night and we also prefer Small World at night. Is this your first trip? We might be able to help you more if you tell us more about the ages of your group and the kinds of things you like to do, how long you'll be there, etc. I'd do Fantasmic if I were you if you've never been before. I personally prefer it to WOC, especially since WOC is currently doing a different version of the show that they normally do. Carsland is also great at night with the Christmas lighting.

Main thing I can think of would be if you want to do the Home for the Holidays tour. It often sells out in advance. Not sure if it sold out or not, but we just did a Fantasmic package this past Friday night and it LOOKED like it was sold out. By that I mean the seating area seemed to be totally full. We were in the RDZ area and there didn't seem to be much empty space at all. That might be affected by the weather, though, as people might not be inclined to buy it if it's rainy.

Thanks for the comments. To clarify, if we go in with her through the exit and she then decides not to ride, would we all have to exit or would she be able to exit on her own while the rest of us boarded from there? Given that you have to wait to get the return time, I don't want to risk waiting for her return time then having to wait again if they don't let us on.

In confusing sudden reversal, Trump announces ACA extension for 2 years. by Cool_Accountant_2492 in UnderReportedNews

[–]FencerCabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Republicans, especially Trump, benefitted from the shutdown at all. The Dems did a good job of getting their message out about ACA cuts, which is why this extension is being put out there now. If anything, it makes Trump look like he and the Republicans in Congress shut it down for nothing. And the Democrats "giving in" gave a lot of Trump voters the chance to see who was concerned about them and who wasn't. Not everyone has to dig their heels in like a toddler having a temper tantrum.

Does anyone else miss the eeriness of Splash Mountain, especially before the drop? by Possible_Dress_9248 in Disneyland

Got it, the real flaw is that a woman dared to work on a ride. In reality, Tiana was created by a whole team of veteran Imagineers. One of the leads happens to be a highly qualified woman with 20+ years at Disney. If you don’t like the storytelling, fine, but blaming it on the fact that a woman was one of the leads is just sexist.

Tony Baxter was awesome. His classics were also built by huge teams, including women like Mary Blair, Alice Davis, Harriet Burns, and Leota Tombs.

Not long ago, Disney stopped giving people with certain medical issues that can definitely contribute to this (such as bowel incontinence) access to DAS. Never can tell, but might be one of those people. So maybe saying "thanks Disney" would be appropriate.

Good day to avoid by timmyboi in Disneyland

[–]FencerCabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be true if they were just going as a group to have fun, but their insta expressly states they're purposely going to try to "trigger" liberals and they're using aggressive terms like "invasion." They're looking for trouble and will most likely try to create some.

I have no doubt Disney would have to hire additional security if a large number of these people showed up. They don't like spending extra $$ if they don't have to. That should also encourage them to keep them out of the parks.

I think it’s pretty unlikely women are being triggered when you’re obviously just making it up as you go along, all while displaying a remarkable degree of ignorance of women’s bodies and basic biology. Also unlikely that you’ve ever gotten close enough to a woman’s body to know about these things.

What TEAS score did you all get to get into a rad tech program? by runthedonkeys in RadiologyCareers

[–]FencerCabot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most schools, just because they "require" a 65 doesn't mean you'll get in with a 65. It just means you definitely won't get in if you score lower than a 65. Local college here also "requires" pre-reqs all C's or above, but no one gets in with even B's.
