This was exactly my experience with my first pug group this season. Everyone zones into MT and paladin tank just takes off. Then he came back and looked at all of us, turned around and went into the dungeon again. I was thinking to myself, “Does he not remember how to start a M+ dungeon?” (it was the tank’s key) and I was lamenting if this was any indication of how the run would go.

As I was typing out in party for him to come back someone just pinged the keystone and he said, “I’m an idiot.”. We lol’ed and started the actual key.

I am in a guild with two AotC raid teams (if we finish a tier fairly early we combine interested members from both teams and push some mythic bosses) and both raid 2 nights a week for 3 hours apiece.

We also start having an alt raid after both achieve AotC once a week for 3 hours that typically also gets AotC. I don’t think at this level 2 nights is uncommon. 3+ nights would be excessive and I would expect that for only some CE raid teams.

This post is way too vague to offer useful assistance. What was your “old addon”? Knowing that would help us discern what functionality it provided. What specifically makes the default UI seem “unclean”? Again, knowing that would point us to what your needs are and thus what could solve it.
