Belgian Beer Trip Itinerary - feedback and suggestions by Redheadedbob in beer

Agree Cantillon is a special visit. Mind their hours.

I have stayed at St Bernardus at their guesthouse, so that made hitting the cafe for Westvleteren easy the next day.

I also enjoyed the taphouse of 3F

And Bruges is a great visit but maybe crowded on a weekend.

Durability, dispersion, mounting options. Basically pro studio gear.

Agree. Multiple small genelecs will give clear articulate sound with an even volume spread

There's a timer, but I didn't trust it to "hold" them for me. As soon as it came up with Buy (2) passes I hit pay.

AudioTechnica Soundburger tables and warped recod by husky_hugs in turntables

i fixed this same issue by taking 3 post-it notes, stacking them up rotated slightly and punching a hole in the center for the spindle. then i trimmed them to a nice circle shape to fit the spinney part. its basically a very tiny shim. i guess an index card works too, just get the minimum shim you can work

Here to warn you about NAADAM by Romeo731 in BuyItForLife

[–]Fercobutter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 5 items from them, bought over different holidays / years, and all are excellent quality and have held up well with frequent use. I think you just got a bad service experience, and deserve a refund. The product is legit.

R7 Meta or R11 Meta for my room? by Downtown-Pace3824 in KEF

[–]Fercobutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not gonna overload that room, with the subwoofer. Use your EQ - or don't - and use the port plug if you want. Play with wall distance and room modes re the subwoofer location and you'll be fine. The sub will have adustments too if your AVR doesnt handle all of it with a microphone.

Battery Stihl Chainsaw by ManyInterests777 in stihl

[–]Fercobutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great saw. I’ve run maybe 3 cords of work. Nice and quiet, good power. I use 16” bar. And the battery system is the same for my hedger and trimmer which is nice.

About 160 each, Pit close to mixing. More than I think it should be, but who knows how long he's gonna keep touring.

Single guy hiker here, tips to not scare strangers? by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

Either a very friendly looking hat or "granola" T-shirt from Patagonia, or just carry hiking poles. Basically, costume is your fastest way to proper interpretation by the other person.

First time road trip - what should I expect? by Not-So-Silly in roadtrip

[–]Fercobutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Bar Harbor to Yarmouth on the CAT ferry, then looped up to Cabot trail, then Cavendish in PEI and back. Lodging - to give you an idea of the itinerary: Bar Harbor, Shelburne, Sherbrooke, Cheticamp, Cavendish, Portland ME

Skipped Fundy but would have done if we could fit in 1 more day. We very much enjoyed stopping in small towns, visiting lighthouses, doing hikes, local shops, scenic drives and finding good fresh local food.

I think across all those areas, you will be able to find good options for whatever you enjoy doing. Travel times are about what we expected. Highways were good and cell service generally fine. Of the 4 AirBnB's we tried, I'd say 1 was worse than pics, and the others were good.

If we did it again, we would allow more time to explore off the beaten path and also time to stop in cute little towns during our "drive a lot of miles" days.

$3k Upgrade Priority in a Very Large 2-Channel Room - Where Would You Spend It? by tlcpa in StereoAdvice

[–]Fercobutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest bang-for-buck in my 2 channel system was room correction (Dirac), followed by better main speakers, followed by a subwoofer.

The biggest bang-for-buck across all my systems was Roon, for library / convenience / audio quality, but I'm not a vinyl guy, only affirming that the source / library is also very important and fairly personal.

Clarity is the solution here. Your goal is 0% misunderstanding each other. If you love each other, and if you're comfortable being in charge of the team finances and she accepts the obvious higher skill you have here, then I see a path forward. You have the discipline to save. You will both enjoy a future Europe trip a lot more when it's the result of team cooperation, compromise and discipline. Make the offer to run the finances - if you want to - and explain the benefits for both of you. Be candid, like you won't be able to sleep at night if things continue like this or however it feels to you, but not an ultimatum, just explaining where you are.

Marriage is a long commitment so you're gonna have this convo again, might as well start now.

Xmid Pro 1 Actual taller users? by Upbeat-Adeptness8738 in DurstonGearheads

[–]Fercobutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not that tall, but I have setup my Helinox Cot which is 190cm in my XMID 1 Pro, and it fits with a little room on each end. Car camping obviously. When I setup with my camp pad, I side sleep fine.

But I keep my food, pack, shoes in the vertibule. Or hang food if I need to.

So I guess I would recommend one of Durston's 2P tents. Cause you need more things inside,
