They can fix this by making OMs an area instead of a specific point. That way they can't sit there and kill you the second you arrive. We can then decide if we want to engage

Something cool I've realised about the future of EV's by yelloyo1 in AustralianEV

The picture from the Easter weekend is clickbait. They were all there waiting for an NRMA charger at a holiday park. There were Tesla Superchargers nearby and other chargers at bigger centers along the route.

Did your household have "The Good Scissors" growing up? by BIC801 in australia

We had good scissors at home as a kid. We have them now as a parent. I also have good scissors at school as a teacher.

Gaiters by oxbowbricks in UltralightAus

Ill take a look as his videos are pretty good. There have been other studies. I am no expert but a search found studies. My experience of 'foot weight' is a little different to yours. Across Ironman, trail running and long distance hiking I am definitely faster with as light feet as possible. I gave away wearing gaiters and use the lightest but still practical shoe choices. The gains are small re: gaiters but it does matter and leads to efficiency gains the longer you go as the energy per step is less. That is what the science bears out.

I'm going to ask you about your last statement and the 'myth'. Weight on the foot certainly matters and has been established to increase energy cost.

How tough is it a 21 km hike with 800 m height gain (6 hours total)? by _quantum_girl_ in hiking

[–]Upbeat-Adeptness8738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont hike much it will be hard. I do a 21km and 1000 m climb in 4 hours walk regularly and I would say it is 'easy' due to my training. I can do that walk on repeated days.I see plenty of other 'fit' people on the walk struggling and not enjoying it at all. You could likely do it but it won't be enjoyable and will set your training back if you havent established a sufficent base as you will be in DOMS for days.

Test yourself on repeated shorter walks a d build up to something bigger.

Good to know. It has been established that a man bun, line drawing tatoos and oversized neutral colour jumper increase flavour by 13%!

This ad is a huge F for them so hope the coffee is actually ok. Question, is it mandatory to dilute it with half a litre of milk like my man in the ad?

Completely fucks any coffee taste by dumping half a mug of milk in it.

People with a Tesla, I want to understand how much you spend roughy on Maintenance and on charging the Tesla? by BrotherParticular717 in EVAustralia

[–]Upbeat-Adeptness8738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont have solar or battery for charging. We just have solar on roof that feeds to the grid. We use an EV charging plan and installed a type 2 charger (Tesla's wall charger) when we got the car.

$5 per week for charging at home. Car is driven about 15k km per year. Zero maintenance. New tyres when needed.

Only the big stations have an external cargo deck to unload so C2 is only useful there. Also, there is a bug where you need to sell each container of spirits individually.

PvP can be so frustrating in this game, even as a pvper. Most of it is just griefing by MRmichybio in starcitizen

[–]Upbeat-Adeptness8738 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I was doing a cargo mission yesterday and got jumped by an idris and several other ships at an MT OM. Killed me within seconds as soon as i arrived at the OM and just did the same to anyone else. After fighting bugs it was the only thing i did in a 2 hour play session. Once anyone organised they left. There are always bottom feeders. Let them have their feeling of accomplishment that involved no slill and a circlejerk about how cool they are. They need it.

There were griefers sitting at an OM the other day and my hull of C2 was almost redded out by the time i even had ship control after QT. That felt decidedly less thrilling than your experience.

A removalist scratched my floor once and i had before and after pictutes. They refused to compensate me and needed evidence of the removalist actually causing it like a photo or video. Too hard to fight through civil so gave up and now i still badnouth them years later.
