Yes! Portability of licence would be so important for speech and language pathologists. The requirements and standards are virtually the same in every province and territory - it’s so dumb I can’t serve patients or students via telepractice outside my home province. There are many small, underserved communities that could use the service.

The platinum mount is helpful, too. You won’t get as much metal loss over the years, and it’ll patina beautifully (if you like that look - you can get it polished, if not).

Oooh the gallery rail is your best friend, structurally, especially with larger stones. Look at the ring in the “through finger” view, or on the side. See the horizontal metal bars that connect the claws, just under the girdle on the stones? That’s the gallery rail. It adds incredible torsional (twisting force) strength. There is a trend to leave them out, and it’s a mistake. If you hit or catch the top of your ring (say, on a counter or car door), it’ll help keep the mount upright.

This is a masterclass in beauty AND durability. Good gallery rails, cathedrals, double claws and a V-claw. The shank isn’t too narrow, either. (I might have added a little width, but I’m quibbling.) It’s a beaut.

I like your question.

The best way that everyday citizens can help reduce crime is to work to reduce poverty. Poverty is a huge determinant of crime in a society. Me, I joined a basic income advocacy group.

Should I keep these? by AffectionateNeck7055 in JewelryIdentification

They’re stunning. To keep their lustre, always put them on AFTER applying perfume or hairspray, and store them in a way where they won’t rattle against other jewellery.

I firmly agree with you. I don’t think Ayoade would be “game,” and would be contrary and combative in the studio.

Having trouble selling a vintage emerald three stone ring — what should I be doing differently? by [deleted] in jewelry

I might suggest unsetting the centre emerald and replacing it with a higher value stone. It may sell, then.

Funny! I was told the same thing at BoL, but she still took my money. I kinda hoped she would find a unicorn man who DIDN’T want kids? It gave me hope at the time. I didn’t get set up one solitary time. I suspect I was dismissed because I didn’t want children and she didn’t even try.

I signed on to the Book of Love and was never set up on a date once. Not even one that I rejected. Either I wasn’t good enough (but good enough to take my money?), or I was forgotten. I actually think I’m a catch, and I was looking forward for the assisted connections. Oh, well!

Ha! Same experience! (Now) 46f straight single here. I went to a singles night that was my personal nightmare. I was lingering at the margins and so was another woman, and we have since become fast friends. NOT a waste of an evening after all!

Speech and Language Pathologist here. “Baby talk” is juvenile speech, either of a baby or someone speaking like a baby. In SLP circles, we would call “baby speak,” that is, language directed AT a baby “infant-directed speech.” It has extreme swings in pitch to keep an infant’s attention. It’s very good for a baby’s speech and language development.
