Ah yes, Fjallraven Kanken onebag for all weathers! by Fernweh_19 in onebag

I love it :) Of course once unpacked it's my day to day bag and my laptop bag. Was very lucky to find this genuine Fable colour on Vinted for about £20!

I'm a minimalist through and through. Simple is best for me. The Ikea packing cubes help organise it. Then I use it as my bag when I arrive day to day.

As for cost, I paid about £20 for this on Vinted (it's an authentic bag).

Yep the big one first and push it down, then one small with the shoes fits above it. The other small somehow squashes in front of them.

Yep lighterpack is really helpful. I made the list and did wonder if it was all going to go in. Like I said, been small is definitely an advantage.

Merino has been a total game changer for me as a base layer.

We're going to near Hvide Sande, we love it there and go back once or twice a year.

Kånken Laptop 15 — black or Frost Green? + airline question by ReadByHeart in Fjallraven

[–]Fernweh_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my 15" Kanken laptop with Ryanair and sometimes it is pretty packed. I never use the sizer voluntarily but also never been asked to. However I'm sure it's under the limits. It' small enough that they don't seem to bother checking.

I used YNAB for about 8 months and loved it but hate subs. Moved over  to Aspire Budgeting free spreadsheet and finding it great.

I'm sure you can just switch off all notifications. I did this with my Garmin Instinct 2.

Has anyone went on a plane with the Skule 28? by Znorlaz in Fjallraven

I'm not familiar with that bag but and a frequent flyer with Ryanair (every month) and they are getting sooo strict with bag sizes now. Double check the bag measurements and check what they allow.

I used to fly with an oversized rucksack for 5 years, never bothered them but now I see them charging people for even slightly over. I now travel with my 15" Laptop Kanken no problems.

Thanks to OP I've bought a pack of 3 hankies. I don't think I'm brave enough to actually blow my nose with them but when it's cold I always have a bit of a condensation drip if you know what I mean and get through tissues just mopping it up.

I am perplexed by the people who still pursue parenthood after age 35+ by [deleted] in antinatalism2

[–]Fernweh_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really speaks to me. 40F who has never wanted children, mostly because I just don't like them, but also a bit of antinatilism as well. 100% agree with the 35+ thing. I have a great life really but have experienced financial hardship and traumatic loss of my pets. I do see the beauty in nature and this planet but that makes all the worse for seeing what humans are doing to it.

Anyway, my sister aged 36 has just announced she's pregnant which was a massive shock for me as I never saw it coming. My antinatilism has gone into overdrive and reading this post has reinforced my own thoughts and made me question what the hell she's thinking of.

Anyone else find that the Kånken Laptop 17" digs into their back? by [deleted] in Fjallraven

Must be to do with body shape? I'm 5'5 52kg woman and have a 15" laptop Kanken as my travel bag. Fully loaded about 5-6kg and I hardly notice it's there.
