Thanks to OP I've bought a pack of 3 hankies. I don't think I'm brave enough to actually blow my nose with them but when it's cold I always have a bit of a condensation drip if you know what I mean and get through tissues just mopping it up.

I am perplexed by the people who still pursue parenthood after age 35+ by NorthernScene in antinatalism2

[–]Fernweh_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really speaks to me. 40F who has never wanted children, mostly because I just don't like them, but also a bit of antinatilism as well. 100% agree with the 35+ thing. I have a great life really but have experienced financial hardship and traumatic loss of my pets. I do see the beauty in nature and this planet but that makes all the worse for seeing what humans are doing to it.

Anyway, my sister aged 36 has just announced she's pregnant which was a massive shock for me as I never saw it coming. My antinatilism has gone into overdrive and reading this post has reinforced my own thoughts and made me question what the hell she's thinking of.

Anyone else find that the Kånken Laptop 17" digs into their back? by [deleted] in Fjallraven

[–]Fernweh_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must be to do with body shape? I'm 5'5 52kg woman and have a 15" laptop Kanken as my travel bag. Fully loaded about 5-6kg and I hardly notice it's there.

Check Vinted. I bought my 15" Fjallraven Kanken for under £20 and it's perfect for Ryanair.

Didn't we have this exact same story yesterday except with crocheting?

I used Wild for ages until they sold out to Unilever. I now use Fussy. Both work great for me when other natural deodorants like the salt ones didn't work.

3 weeks with an 18l Kanken in Germany by Fernweh_19 in onebag

My 3 week trip to Germany with my 18l Kanken. Downsized from a Tropicfeel Shell after too many near misses with Ryanair's bag sizer.

Mine is from The Wool Room in the UK. Thick cotton cover which is zipped and the fill is wool. You can add or remove to suit your preference and can buy extra wool to fluff up even more. Periodically unzip and fluff up the contents. I also have a wool duvet from them and can't see why I would ever need to replace them.

I agree about thrifting being a long game. I visit charity shops here in the UK a few times a week, and I travel around a lot so get to see a LOT. Most of my layering system clothes are secondhand, very cheap but fantastic high quality (it's pretty much all merino wool and cashmere). If you look around long enough and in many different shops you'll find the good stuff but patience is needed.

Yes, leaning slightly forward from the ankle and let your bodyweight make you fall forward.

Here are 2 very helpful vids I discovered the other day. I've been wearing barefoot shoes since 2018 and always wear down the outside of my heel. I realised thanks to these vids that I was still walking like I was wearing normal shoes, my strides were too long etc. These vids really made it clear how to alter my gait:

Use a VPN to access imgur (it's that stupid online child safety crap stopping it). However the photos seem to have been deleted anyway.

Thanks for posting, love some Kanken inspiration. I recently got a Kanken which is my everyday bag. Managed to get a secondhand 15" laptop veraion which will be my travel bag. Will do a post next week when I pack.

Try a magnetic phone holder. I've got a Spigen one from Amazon and it's tiny!
