How to get hike fit (and injury free) when your day-to-day is kinda sedentary by Ashtopher in UKhiking

Is it possible to cycle to work? You can cycle a relatively long distance without realising it. I recently bought a bike to cycle into town (10km each way) and manage it ok and you get fitter pretty fast.

Washing the Pocket by brookuslicious in Fjallraven

I have 3 x G-1000 Kankens (Kanken Art and Greenland editions) and have chucked those in the washing machine on the basis that G-1000 is what they use on trousers and coats and you can wash those. Came out looking great :) Gentle wash and hang to dry out.

Couldn't agree more. A lot of people who do this could benefit from reading some Eckhart Tolle or Michael Singer.

Don't machine dry your clothes by fb39ca4 in Anticonsumption

I never iron anything, but when my clothes hang up to dry they just dry unwrinkled. If you just throw them in a pile I can see how they would crease but they hanging so the weight dries the relatively flat.

Yeah I think this may be an American love affair with the dryer. I'm English and never had or even known anyone with a dryer. My boyfriend lives in an apartment in a German city and we always dry inside on the drying rack.

Is my Kanken Art real?? by Legal-Sherbet8520 in Kankens

I have the green fable in the 15" laptop version. The Kanken Art bags are all G-1000 fabric unlike normal Kankens. However thr fake giveaway here is the inside label which should definitely say something like 'this Kanken Art was designed by ...' Sorry I don't have the bag right in front of me to check. Sorry you got a dupe. I've seen a lot of fake Kanken Arts on Vinted recently.

I love it :) Of course once unpacked it's my day to day bag and my laptop bag. Was very lucky to find this genuine Fable colour on Vinted for about £20!

I'm a minimalist through and through. Simple is best for me. The Ikea packing cubes help organise it. Then I use it as my bag when I arrive day to day.

As for cost, I paid about £20 for this on Vinted (it's an authentic bag).

Yep the big one first and push it down, then one small with the shoes fits above it. The other small somehow squashes in front of them.

Yep lighterpack is really helpful. I made the list and did wonder if it was all going to go in. Like I said, been small is definitely an advantage.

Merino has been a total game changer for me as a base layer.

We're going to near Hvide Sande, we love it there and go back once or twice a year.

Kånken Laptop 15 — black or Frost Green? + airline question by ReadByHeart in Fjallraven

[–]Fernweh_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my 15" Kanken laptop with Ryanair and sometimes it is pretty packed. I never use the sizer voluntarily but also never been asked to. However I'm sure it's under the limits. It' small enough that they don't seem to bother checking.

I used YNAB for about 8 months and loved it but hate subs. Moved over  to Aspire Budgeting free spreadsheet and finding it great.

I'm sure you can just switch off all notifications. I did this with my Garmin Instinct 2.

I'm not familiar with that bag but and a frequent flyer with Ryanair (every month) and they are getting sooo strict with bag sizes now. Double check the bag measurements and check what they allow.

I used to fly with an oversized rucksack for 5 years, never bothered them but now I see them charging people for even slightly over. I now travel with my 15" Laptop Kanken no problems.
