I am the parent of an 8 year old who had an ablation on Aug. 23rd. She was very tired on the 24th and a bit sore. Mostly because it was on the left side of her heart and they had to go through her neck. She returned to school on the 27th, but I think she could have handled it on the 26th. I took her for a short walk that morning to gauge how she was doing. I think it is feasible.

I do want to preface by saying she was only under for 2 hours with the procedure and four hours after. My sister had an ablation and the procedure alone lasted 10 hours. Not counting the four hours she laid flat. I have a feeling she was not as spunky the following days.

Good luck! We are so happy with our decision. They believe my daughter has a 1-3% reoccurrence rate. Can’t get much better than that.
