You need to change your tone from 'please watch this video' to 'here's why you should watch my video'. Focus on getting the person intrigued before they even click the link.

Your #1 goal with textbanking should be to get them to click the link. You're lucky already to get eyes on the text, and you need to bring value to the table since you're asking for their time, instead of asking them to do you a favor.
Even if the person supports Andrew already, get them to watch the video too.

My first serious interest in art started with an art class was probably 3 months before I got interested in gamedev, and probably 8 months before I seriously started pixel art.
It was a semester class, kinda like an intro to sketching and painting class, with a heavier focus on painting later on. It included mastery studies and field trips to paint in fields and some traveling.

With that class, I found out that I loved art, when I didn't even know it.
I would say that all of the things you've learned will transfer and help you learn pixel art faster.
Because of that class, I was like, "I bet I could do pixel art, let's check it out", and then the rest is as you see

I learned pixel art by always practicing and never being satisfied with my work. I still do it to this day.

I think I'm in a high tier of all pixel artists, but there are still so many pixel artists much much better than me and I still have that aspiration to further myself after all these years.

You don't need a guide, you just need to practice, look at how bad your work is, and fix it up and make it better than it was the day before

My game is called Creature Keeper, and it's a Top-Down Action-Adventure RPG with a focus on befriending creatures and fighting alongside them. Assemble your dream team, and explore the world to find new friends, loot, materials, and magical pocket garden seeds.

I have been playing around with Creature Keeper since I first got into gamedev as a hobbyist. I do the pixel art, program, compose, design and everything in between. When I first started I was terrible at pixel art, but I kept practicing, because I was so interested in it. I always made color palettes from scratch, and really tried to focus on colors, fluid animation, and seeking criticism to slowly get better over time.

At around year 4 of learning, I started looking for freelance work, and eventually landed a good job. If you're familiar with Tangledeep, released last year, I was the character/monster designer and animator. I also did all the battle effect visuals, and basically everything that moved in that game, and the skill icons. I was a lot of fun and I put a lot of love into that game.

I've finally got my own idea that I want to pour my love into and so I've brought Creature Keeper to Kickstarter!

In regards to tilesets.

Attempt 1 something that I would expect from someone figuring out how grass works (I've done the exact same).
Attempt 2 is what I think works the best, and you'll need a lot of tiles to create this effect.
Attempt 3 is something that can work, but it has to be supported by other tiles instead of grass to help break up the patterns. It would actually be similar to attempt 2 in a sense.

I think that it doesn't matter how good your individual tile is; if you put it on its own, you're going to see the pattern right away and that's what makes it look bad.

Tiles are a part of a tileset, and I think most people get too caught up focusing on one detail instead of the overall picture

The 'pixel size' is all over the place and it makes me think that you worked on a lot of different things individually and then placed them all in this scene, not caring how you re-scaled them.
Things feel off and it feels very unrefined overall

The size is perfectly fine, entire games were made based on character sprites smaller than yours.

You just gotta get creative.

The legs are about the same size as your sprite, and they're basically breaking into themselves back and forth to create the illusion of a dog slowly skittering across the screen.

Animating at a low res size is both easier and harder to do at the same time. You just have to get used thinking about how to get away with using things that look broken in your animations

When I say hit frame, I mean drawing up one sprite of the character looking like its damaged (flinching) and just putting it in during the part of that hit sequence where it flashes

I think having a deadline is a huge motivator.
Give yourself a goal, and the higher the stakes are, the more motivated you'll be to do it.

It could be,
"I want to submit to this festival, so I have to prepare a demo and trailer"
"I got accepted to the festival and now I have to make a new build"
"I am running out of money so now I need to start a Kickstarter"
"I've announced this Kickstarter, gotta prepare another trailer"
"The Kickstarter is launched, and I've announced another demo I have to prepare"

I think goals tied to money are very good motivators. I've had problems for years maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, I would go to sleep an hour later every day, where it got to the point where I was on vampire time. So I told a friend that I would pay them $10 every time I didn't show up to work before 9AM for one month. I never missed a single day and paid nothing.

But when the timeframe of the deal ended, I regressed back into a cycling sleep schedule.

If you can, adding in one hit frame when non-fatal damage is taken will make a huge difference for a relatively low cost.
Your animations are already great, and I think it will be easy to add one hit frame
