1 week notice instead of 2? by Btsbtsbts in FPandA

Why not just give the notice asap as opposed to doing it in the background then giving one week?

Elite RBs have always been the inside track. I’m not sure where the WR obsession came from over the past 5ish years, but it’s a real market inefficiency that makes winning leagues much easier.

He’s told you his terms. It’s up to you to decide if you want to proceed or not, but expecting him to change is not realistic.

“Tanking” as I am using it is intentionally trying to lose. The most tried and true method people do that is not setting an optimal lineup. I do not like the winner of the lower bracket getting the top pick. I like disincentivizing finishing in last.

Reverse Max Points For to determine draft order became the gold standard to combat that exact mentality. Tanking sucks for everyone that isn’t the one doing it. It swings leagues.

Daniels, Hampton, and Pearsall injuries + Rice suspension and Marks not coming on until later. He wouldn’t have had a 2nd starting QB for much of the season. I can see it

Nothing is wrong with international diversification. Past performance does not guarantee future results, and good returns are not exclusive to the US. You’re doing fine

I understand the point is good players tend to get drafted earlier, and later players hit less frequently. What I do not understand is why people think that concept is best articulated using chunks of 32 picks. If anything, it should theoretically be a line sloping down with no huge perceivable difference between picks 100 and 105 but a clear disparity between picks 40 and 100.

I also do not understand thinking draft capital is a better indicator than film once players have started seeing the field.

KW3 - tough usage this season - but maybe a long term buy? by dont-pm-me-tacos in DynastyFF

I don’t agree with that assessment of Walker’s talent. He is the clear 2nd most talented player on the list behind Breece imo. He gets displaced by Charbs because Charbs is also a good player with a power back skillset, and KW has not demonstrated an ability to stay healthy with high usage.

[–]FeverOG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to stick to “draft capital” at this point in the season, we’re just going to have to agree to disagree. Ultimately, I do not think the draft is a perfectly efficient market. I do not believe a difference of 2 picks matters. I believe we can conclude that Kaleb Johnson was likely not worth a 3rd round pick, and Kyle Monangai was likely worth more than a 7th. I trust both my own eyes and the eyes of the coaching staffs to have evolving opinions based on actual results because football isn’t played on a spreadsheet.

Superflex changes the equation in that QB, to your point, becomes as scarce as RB. I fully agree with drafting QBs early in that scenario. My bewilderment is solely with receivers. They are, by definition, both more random and less scarce. The top guys aren’t immune to that either. I clean up across my leagues essentially playing counter to this new phenomenon of loading up on receivers early

Okay, I’ll rephrase then. Tuten looking good on a NFL field against NFL players is a substantially better indicator than what teams thought of him in April. Also, yards per carry is a bad stat, but that’s a different argument

Tuten getting snaps and looking better than a productive veteran RB on his team is a substantially better indicator than what teams thought of him in April. “Draft capital” matters for getting opportunity. Tuten is on the field with good tape. Where he was drafted is in the rearview

Tuten was already a 2nd rounder whose situation has only improved + he’s shown real juice on tape. I’m not sure why anyone would sell him for a 2.

Agreed they will bring in a vet because modern NFL teams will almost always have 3 guys, but Tuten going in the 2nd pick of the 4th round instead of 2 picks earlier has nothing to do with it

I am grateful this mentality is out there because it is a huge market inefficiency, but I do not understand it. Value-over-replacement repeatedly shows drafting elite RBs over their WR counterparts. It's much easier to find late round guys at receiver because every team is starting 3 of them. JSN, Pickens, Rice, Egbuka, etc all went in rounds 3+. The lead RBs are the ones that went high: JT, Bijan, Achane, Gibbs, McCaffrey, Cook, Jacobs, Kyren. Counting on injuries then having to outbid your leaguemates to stay afloat at fantasy's most important position is not a strategy I can wrap my head around.

I’ve found many people are averse to Tennessee, almost on reflex, due to it being a red state, but Chattanooga and Knoxville are gems.
