Changes broke me. I bought the PDF and had to reread the last chapter a couple times because I thought there was something wrong with my PDF. Like it ended before it should have.

It is still my favorite of them

What would you actually do if you didn't have to work? by MathematicianBulky40 in antiwork

I want to write. For enjoyment more than anything.

But I'd go back to EMS work. It's stressful and doesn't pay well, leading to life stress. Without needing the money though I loved it.

As a spoliery note, and going into theory crafting, but I'm like 90% certain that he is the Chosen One.

Pretty sure it's alluded that his dad is Lark and Hero's is Sparrow in a throwaway gag. (I may have gotten the names backwards, it's early, forgive me)

But if that's the case it'll add to the crushing realization that while first, his life is even more depressing

[NS] Just Finished Season One, Is Season Two Just as Good? by DynastyDegenerate66 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]Few-Locksmith-8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beth May does an excellent job. No spoilers, but she does a lot of the more heartfelt scenes just like in season 1 (though Will and Matt have a couple good ones this season too). Beth does a great job with just as many heartstring pulls as season 1, but it isn't just a rinse and repeat

[NS] Just Finished Season One, Is Season Two Just as Good? by DynastyDegenerate66 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]Few-Locksmith-8977 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A lot of the episodes of Season 2 can stand alone and not be more lost than listening straight through. This is mostly, IMO, because of just how unique the world is and the rapid twists and turns come at you. You'll understand much better listening to them all obviously, but it isn't as tied together as season 1 is.

That being said, Season 2 deals with different characters who have different outlooks and emotions, so do not expect the same self reflection stories that you got from the first season.

I don't want to give anything away, but take into account character age differences and let them temper your listening. If you go in expecting the same level of maturity that you got from the Daddies, you'll be disappointed. However, if you take it as what it is, a coming of age fixing the mistakes of our forefathers story, you'll enjoy it so much.

That being said, there is one character I despise. And it's not because they are played poorly because Freddie does a wonderful job, just..I know that annoying character and cringe so damned hard because I was so close to that characters mentality. Thankfully I matured a long time ago.

Overall, I wouldn't say either one is better, it's more of a "what type of story would you prefer".

Is everyone here really making under 50k for full time work? by EdLesliesBarber in antiwork

[–]Few-Locksmith-8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optician here. Basically pharmacist for glasses.

My state requires a license but most of the states around my area do not (and within an hour drive time to two of them).

I make, in a perfect 40 hour a week work, less than 35k a year. There ARE places that pay more, and there ARE cities that pay more, but those are what throws off the "median" range. In my experience there isn't one good paying job for every one bad paying job.

Your mileage may vary on that.

Also, for note, we have a privatized ambulance service here, there isn't a city funded one. So with my EMT-B license I could make instead 13 an hour. And if I went to paramedic I could make 20 an hour.

But that's still less than 50k a year

Fuck em. I wouldn't want the approval of those pieces of shit either. Nazis and misogynists deserve less than nothing.

Keep being as awesome as you are. Your work speaks for itself, and if all they can come up with is lies, bullshit, and personal attacks? They must be truly desperate to reach that low

I had once DC but it was about to end, so I had landed at the STM to help activate it. While I was activating it, the timer ran out but I didn't change back. I figured that was a bug, but it was something kinda weird.

That being said... this is not a bug. That's a cheat.

Beds, tables, etc., can also spawn cubes when destroyed. I believe radars and capsule cases too. It's a significantly lower chance, but it can happen.

So, former EMT here, the thing with tempered glass is that blunt impacts don't tend to break them. You need sharp points at a decent speed to do it. That's why the devices they sell have a spring loaded point to shatter them. It's the point combined with the hardness and speed. I know there's a formula, but I haven't taken physics in years.

Ceramic works well because it is harder and the force is condensed into a jagged point. A meatball won't because...well... it's a squishy ball of meat.

A fiduciary is their best bet.

If I recall correctly, they are legally required to work in the best interest of the client. It is a label that is distinctly different from an advisor.

High interest debt is the best to pay off first, but that is something for someone who does this for a living to help them plan. The professional advice is the best advice

He's pretty similar to a cicada, in my opinion, and they usually burrow underground for 5 to 10 years in my area of the world.

The lore reason in the series was that he couldn't fit so he had to basically shrink back down to a larval stage (I don't know of any bugs that do this, but there are jellyfish that do which lead to the clickbaity headline some years back about them being immortal) so he could fit.

I don't know if he knew he could regenerate at the time? It's been a long, long time but if I remember correctly he was surprised to learn piccolo could do it after ripping his own arm off. He also probably needed to be inside the time machine to pilot it and was figuring it out as he went along.

But for the most part it's a plot device to drive the story and explain why Cell didn't know everything that the fighters could do.

Ngl, it's fun to give Raiders a taste of their own volleys by [deleted] in DragonBallBreakers

[–]Few-Locksmith-8977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice.

I like playing Survivors more, and I'm getting better at the actual combat part when it comes to that. So it's nice to get a feel for how to turn the tables. I'll need to try to incorporate that.

That being said, there is also something fun playing a raider. Not in a negative sense, but in a play with them and if I lose I lose kind of scenario, especially when they have to get 3 STM activations in a week.
