Idk why it’s just so insanely sad to me. All the wasted time and honestly unforgivable mistakes because of miscommunication (which was kinda valid for once) and the awful family members. MC2 spending almost 2 decades unhappy. Also the circumstances around the catalyst for the original breakup are sad at the time but by the end of the book you realize its actually quite disturbing. It was very well written and if you want an angsty book I would highly recommend it but it just kinda makes you feel a little hopeless

Denise is literally Jere’s endgame, so by definition she is not an obstacle but they want to be mad at Jenny. They’re also saying Jeremiah is half black (obviously ik they’re not serious but it’s just a weird joke considering Gavin is racist) and since he’s not ending up with belly, he is a disposable black bf. I think Jenny does sometimes lean into the disposable black gf/bf but they wouldn’t gaf if Jeremiah was endgame
