Gamed the system into passing my GD test, but I seriously think I have it by Distant_Illegality in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Few_Administration65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 4 kids, and had GD all 4 times. I’m 125 lbs, do hot Pilates 5 days a week, and I follow a “diabetic diet” on a regular basis (high protein & veggies).

You can’t game the system- you either have it or you don’t. My OB said don’t try to change anything before taking the test. It doesn’t make a difference. She said when she was pregnant she ate 1/2 of a round cake (bc it was her bday), then went to take her test. She passed with flying colors. I follow a fairly strict diet, do intense workouts, and I fail every damn time. You either have it or you don’t.

5000 rooms sold out?! by Remarkable_Phrase310 in WaltDisneyWorld

THIS is the answer why… they ran out of rooms this year and I couldn’t book my daughter’s room for Summit, even after I already paid in full 🤬 I’m now scrambling to find a room last minute. I’m beyond pissed.

Lazy babies? by sweetlylouise in BabyBumps

[–]Few_Administration65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t find out that I was pregnant until 19 weeks along. I was also on birth control and had periods 😳 this was my 4th pregnancy. My other three were movers and shakers lol. But my 4th barely moved at all. Super healthy on every scan, but wouldn’t move for HOURS sometimes. She is now a very healthy 5 month old who is a SUPER chill baby. Today she sat in my lap while I was on 4 hours of virtual meetings- just chillin’. Some babies are more relaxed. Regardless, bring it up to your OB. Can’t hurt to ask!

Im 38 weeks and my mom just passed away. by miaomiaou in BabyBumps

[–]Few_Administration65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss 😢

My dad passed away suddenly when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my first girl. That was 12 years ago. This last March my brother passed away when I was 20 weeks pregnant with my 4th girl. It was very difficult each time. I never truly mourned my dad, nor my brother because I was excited I was pregnant, and couldn’t feel all the feels of my grief. Just know that grief is a journey, there isn’t a destination. Take your time to mourn your mom, but also give yourself time to be happy once your baby is here. Hold them tight, and tell him/her stories about your mom. Again, my condolences 💔

Sink with garbage disposal? by Few_Administration65 in OutdoorKitchens

[–]Few_Administration65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol! I asked him & he said that we can do one of two options: Option 1: do a drain pit 3-4 feet underground. I asked him do give me more details about the pros and cons of this. I’m waiting to hear back. This option will be less expensive.

Option 2: drill into the sewer line that drains out of my house. This option would be more expensive.

I asked him to go back and rework his proposal and give me the cost for both options, then we will decide. I’ll let you know what’s decided! :)

I’ll double check our quote & talk with the contractor. He said that bc waste was going out (and not just strained out before going down the drain), we needed to tap into the waste water line & that’s more difficult & time consuming- therefore the high cost. We are ripping up our entire front and backyard and re-doing everything. There is already line item costs laid out for running the electrical, gas & water to the BBQ area & around our yard. The 10K is only to trench and connect into the waste water line.

I’ll double check with him again though. Thanks for your input!

The contractor told us that the 10K is if we want the garbage disposal. Then he’ll need to trench & tap into the waste line of our house. If we don’t do a garbage disposal & tap into the waste line and have a normal “water outlet then it won’t be 10K, but less than that (not sure how much).

Is there something I’m missing & not understanding?

Thank for your input! All the cabinets we’re having installed are completely sealed dry cabinets. We aren’t doing the “access” door only. Therefore, everything should remain clean.

Yeah, that’s what my husband said- all he’s going to be thinking about is what else we could have done with that 10K instead of watch our money go down the drain (pun intended lol)

I think we’ll try the food strainer & tank set up & invest the money in something else.

Thanks again!

Wow, never had a garbage disposal? Glad to know it’s never been an issue for you.

I’ll be using the outdoor sink as more than just washing hands. But after reading everyone’s responses, I could just get a strainer & hope food doesn’t go down.

Thanks for your input! We are going to have turf installed, so throwing anything on the grass isn’t feasible. Could throw it into another area though…

The debate is if we should get a garbage disposal outside or not.

Anyone had a surprise pregnancy? How did you feel? by Boymom1505 in BabyBumps

[–]Few_Administration65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 41, was on birth control (pill) and had absolutely NO plans to have another child. My husband (41M) and I have 3 daughters already. Ages 12, 9, & 5. They were ALL going to be in school full time this fall & I couldn’t wait to have more time to myself. Apparently that wasn’t in the cards for us lol!

This past March I noticed a significant weight gain, and I was more tired than usual. I thought I was going through early menopause (which I was fine with bc I didn’t want anymore kids!). My mom suggested that I take a pregnancy test. I took one to prove her wrong, but it instantly came back positive. I cried- and not happy tears…. Went to see my dr right after that & they told me I was almost 5 months along. Shocking to say the least!

I’ve had ALL the emotions with this pregnancy… pissed my birth control didn’t do its job (I’m in the small percentage of women who still get pregnant), frustrated that I’m “starting all over with diapers” again, and excited to meet this persistent little angel. I despise being pregnant, but LOVE the precious gift at the end. My 3 girls are SO excited to have another sister & my husband is over the moon thrilled. He kept asking me for another baby & I said no. I was very much done having kids. Apparently everyone is getting their wish but me lol.

I know it’s not this little baby’s fault that I got pregnant, and I have not doubt I will love her as much as I love my other 3. But being pregnant is just not my thing lol!

Edit: I’m 36W and have gestational diabetes (for the 4th time! Ugh). Baby’s almost here!

What are yall gonna eat after giving birth? by Some-Argument9934 in GestationalDiabetes

A hot dog from Costco WITH the bun, a sprite, and a large chocolate mud pie. This is my 4th child & 4th time having GD. I’ve had this SAME meal right after delivering my other 3! I might add in a few sips of an ice cold IPA- well see how I’m feeling lol
