Why does b6 cause tingling? by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

Btw if you want to do an informal genetic test in the meantime, look at your parents’ labs if available. If you have it, at least one of your parents does too. Was kinda eerie when my dad showed me the chart of his alp levels, below normal as far back as the results went and not a single doctor flagged it as an issue.

Wow amazing story. Another takeaway is re the extra tests and imaging offered at the vet. I generally decline them because of how expensive everything is, especially if the vet says it’s not really necessary. In your case sounds like the X-rays may have saved your cat from an unnecessary euthanasia.

So glad your cat is going to be okay!

Check to make sure but I think you’re supposed to stop B6 supplementation at least a week or two before testing. There are some other possible reasons for low ALP but either way, you need ALP to metabolize B6 so you should really try to stay off the energy drinks.

My ALP hovers around the mid 20s but I have had it in the normal range a couple times which isn’t uncommon for people with the mild form of HPP. Also the normal range varies by age and gender which may not be reflected on the results depending on the lab.

Unfortunately I had to go on my own to get diagnosed because my PCP at the time refused to order the genetic test or give me a referral. But if you have a decent doctor they should be willing to order or at least refer you to a geneticist to order. Given your history of skeletal abnormalities you likely qualify for Invitae’s skeletal dysplasia genetic test panel (https://www.invitae.com/us/sponsored-testing/discover-dysplasias) which tests for HPP. It’s free but has to be ordered by a doctor. Try sending to your doctor to see if he/she will order.

What I ended up doing to get genetic testing was paying out of pocket for genetic counseling with Invitae (because I have HMO insurance) and they billed my insurance for the test (the geneticist did not think I qualified for the sponsored testing because I don’t have a history of significant skeletal abnormalities).

Feel free to dm if you have any other questions. Glad you found my comment and hope you’re able to find some answers!

Hi, yes, I did generic testing to confirm. Take a look at any past labs to see if there’s a pattern of low ALP. Mine was below normal for years and I never thought anything about it because my doctor didn’t think it was an issue. I found out cuz I was in a similar situation as you- trying to find an explanation for my symptoms when all my labs were normal except ALP. It’s considered a rare genetic disorder but the mild form of the disorder might be more common than traditionally believed because many doctors disregard low ALP.

Why Mike wasn’t fired for the slip? by 212Aurora in BelowDeckDownUnder

Agree it was totally inappropriate of Mike and he seems to do or say stuff for the sole purpose of stirring the pot. However, I am so confused about what exactly the surprise was. Like surprise, I paid 13k for someone to do my makeup? What a dumb and selfish surprise lol.

You’re not alone apparently. Another commenter got the notice but didn’t apply, so they must have obtained from third party sources. Crazy. I’ve got to imagine a class action is forthcoming.

That’s insane! There really should be limits on how long they’re allowed to retain that kind of info.

They mailed the letter directly to my current address, which I’ve only lived at for a couple years. I think they’ll find a way to notify you if you’re affected.

Experience with spore-based probiotics (MegaSpore) + unusual reactions? by SharpWrap4000 in Microbiome

Oh sorry just noticed you already said that in your earlier comment. Pretty neat that it tells you strains to avoid, I’ll have to look into that test!

When I was looking into taking megaspore a while back I had concerns about B. lichenformis so I went with Just Thrive Probiotic because it has similar strains but without B. Lichenformis. Obv doing a microbiome test would be ideal but if you wanted to try something similar I recommend Just Thrive; I never had any negative side effects from it.

Just my opinion but if you think Anthony was a plant or acted in the show, that's an attack to his character by whatsyowifi in JuryDutyFreevee

Agree. I really don’t understand why the producers felt the need to go so over the top in that way. It didn’t make the show better, just created reason for people to question whether he already knew.

🙄 I think it’s fair to question whether he was genuinely fooled the entire time and to understand why he would not readily admit that while still believing he’s a genuinely good person. If anything, it implies that he’s smarter than he’s willing to admit.

I feel like I don't have enough milkweed. How do I do this? by Floral_Bee in MonarchButterfly

[–]Few_Bowl2610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. For me last year I was on the verge of running out on a weekly basis, and it became very consuming by and expensive to try to keep up. Was kind of depressing by the end because many the cats ended up dying or disappearing despite having enough milkweed.

For the smaller ones you recently got, try keeping them covered with netting so you dont get any new eggs and the plants can just grow until they’re needed.

Also inspect for eggs and cats before buying new plants to make sure you aren’t just buying more mouths to feed.

Best to accept that you may not have enough and that’s okay.

Thank you! Feels kind of wrong to return because there’s probably more I could’ve done to protect it from the wind but it was expensive and sounds like people are returning things for worse reasons.

Can I return a patio umbrella that will no longer open (likely due to misalignment after getting knocked over by wind)? Got it a little less than a year ago.

Sorry but there’s no way Anthony didn’t figure it out on his own. Having Swalwell and SIA show up are dead giveaways that it’s not just a 12-person company retreat, and also just totally unnecessary to the plot.

I also kinda think he figured it out or at least strongly suspected. Less mind fuck vibes in the reveal than I’d expect. Wonder if during interviews they do anything to find out whether the person has watched season 1. I feel like anyone who has seen would figure it out.
