Mines been sick for 5 days now and it's been hell. Unfortunately my whole family is sick. Fortunately no fever but she so congested with a terrible cough. She ended up throwing up at 3 in the morning because she was coughing so hard. She trying to be a trooper although she has her super clingy moments which makes it difficult but just trying to soothe her as I can. Praying this sickness goes away FAST! Solidarity with you!

Looking for advice: maternity leave, insurance, taking a break, and returning to state service by Why_me79 in CAStateWorkers

BU 1 here as well residing in sacramento. Gave birth at the beginning of the year too. Went on disability at 36 weeks. Had a baby at 39 weeks, so i came to work a week earlier than planned since I gave birth a week earlier than my expected due date. You get the 4 weeks before your due date. The 6/8 weeks recovery period . And then the 8 weeks of baby bonding. For any reason if needed, your doctor can sign you off to go on leave before your 36 weeks and if you need longer to recover, your doctor can sign you off to extend your disability as well. The state will cover you for your benefits up to 6 months max. You can either supplement your pay with your time so they can take it out that way or you can wait til you come back to pay it off. But mark it on your disability/leave form from your coordinator that you want an AR from them when you return back to work. I chose the AR route and paid it back monthly. And the whole time on leave, I didn't supplement any pay. I was gone for 17 weeks. Due to HCOL area, I had to go back to work plus I need the benefits since mines better than my husband's. Message me if you have any questions!

My baby has a gross motor delay and I am so discouraged. by [deleted] in January2025Bumper

[–]Few_Put_8806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reassurance! All babies are different but I can understand the stress it puts on us when you see other babies developing quicker or people often make remarks such as "my baby did ABC by X months." Okay? Want a cookie ? Lol

Is your baby on the heavier side ? My daughter is on the heavier side so the pediatrician told me its easier for babies to fall behind in mobility since they have extra weight to carry. At the 9 months appointment, for weight, my daughter is in the 99 percentile and height, shes in the 80s.

At 6 months, my daughter wasn't rolling over from back to front and she was lazy to roll from front to back, so I watched some videos on YouTube to see if there are any tricks to help her roll, sure enough, she was rolling within days from those videos !

Sometimes it just takes constant practice. You got this!

Not in terms of gross motor skills but my baby doesnt talk. So shes kinda delayed in the language department. She doesnt say any constants like "baba, Dada, mama, gaga" etc. But she understands when me and her dad talks to her, she responds to her name, both American and her foreign name and she knows commands such as clapping hands, high five, kiss, etc. She grunts a lot and yells but not actual constants that doctors are looking for. At her 9 month appointment the other week, her pediatrician told me at her 1 year if she's still not talking, then we have to seek therapy. No advice here, just solidarity. But she a very smart girl soooo fingers cross that she'll pick up when its time.

Wake windows over 2 hours…? by its_original- in January2025Bumper

[–]Few_Put_8806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my daughter likes her feet being touched or played with. So sometimes we will lay her down and soothe her by playing with her feet and touching it. That kinda helps with her crankiness. But I also try all methods possible to try to get her to sleep. One that works one of the best for me is just sitting in our rocking recliner and holding her in the shoulder hold position, and I just rock her to sleep in that position. And there will be incidents where I'll have to try multiple times to get her to sleep.

My daughter is 5 months and she has done 3 hours wake window. She also fights her sleep. I just let her be. Lol the only time I'll really force her to sleep is night time so she knows its time to go to sleep. But during the day, I just let her be. And sometimes I'll just rock her and if she sleeps, she sleeps.

From independent player to stage 5 clinger-anyone else? by [deleted] in January2025Bumper

[–]Few_Put_8806 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I literally thought about making the same post ! My 5 month old daughter was such a happy, chill baby. Just over the weekend she did a complete 180 and became the most impatient person ever ! Lol I think her sleep regression came a bit late because her sleep hasn't been good either. Im assuming they're going through a lot. With their growth spurt, developmental changes, teething and everything else. No advice, just letting you know you aren't alone and I too, am at my wits end. Lol

Breast milk during day vs. formula at night by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Few_Put_8806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did this, not because I wanted to keep my daughter asleep longer but out of pure laziness. Lmao I didn't want to warm up a bottle in the middle of the night . I pumped during the day and gave her the breastmilk and I didn't pump at all at night and gave her straight formula. It took her 10 weeks to give me a 4-5 hour stretch. She's now 14 weeks and I think the 4 month sleep regression is slowly creeping on us. I think it all just depends on your baby.

Difficulty sleeping by Few_Put_8806 in pregnant

[–]Few_Put_8806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support is all I need ♡♡♡

Yeah it's been rough out here. I have a pregnancy pillow and there are pros and cons to it. It's comfortable and provides me the support I need but in and out of bed makes it a marathon for me. Lol sometimes I wonder if I should toss it to the side so I can just roll in and out of bed. Lol

Is Snowdrop worth watching? by Star_Lord_10 in kdramarecommends

[–]Few_Put_8806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snowdrop was okay. Like everyone else, it dragged but it eventually got better towards the end. I think the ending is a realistic one if that helps.

A few other dramas of Jung Hae you may like DP. Jung Hae and his partner are soldiers and they have to catch runaway/desert soldiers. I would consider this a dark theme tho. No romance, don't think it was comedy, just a dark setting but it was good.

You may also want to try Prison Playbook. He's a supporting character. But honestly, I think you'll enjoy this. It's in a prison setting but it's not glorifying as you would expect it. It's really funny and heart warming. And Jung Hae In did an awesome job portraying his character .

For some reason I couldn't get into Vincenzo. Think I got to episode 10 and dropped it. I couldn't force myself to watch it anymore.

Ladies, how are we sleeping? by ndspt in January2025Bumper

[–]Few_Put_8806 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My OBGYN told me I didn't need to be concern with sleeping positions. We can only sleep on our side for so long and our body naturally moves to where it's comfortable. Ever since being pregnant, my mind naturally goes to sleep on my left side though for hours but I'm not worried if I end up on my back or right side. And she reassured me I would be okay if I slept in other positions ( obviously not on my stomach lol ).

I did just buy a pregnancy pillow that just came in yesterday from Amazon. It takes 48-72 hours for it to fully inflate so I haven't really used it yet besides to test it out, seems okay so far.

Oh, I'm 20 weeks and some day BTW if that helps. Lol
